  4. BFG Sport Truck T/A's 315/70-15.

    They're ~32.5" tall and have a 12.5" section width.

We've had alot of conversations about tires SCRAPE and how they make or break a car. It's been said already but I LOVE the goodyear double eagles they NEED to be reproduced along with the us royal masters. The Atlas Bucrons need a mention too for the right car. Who made the slicks with the two white lines with a redline between??? I would build a car around some of those!! haha

  6. Firestone Lightning cheater slicks. These were original equipment on Thunderbolts. I've only ever seen one set in person and they are posted here. I think these would sell well with T-bolt owners and other vintage race cars. I dig the tread pattern.

    Hey Coker, they are Firestones!!:D

I liked the BFG Radial TA in the 70's not the newer ones. They switched early 80's maybe late 70's?

Now these guys have the right idea. Nothing got traction in the 50's like the Atlas (Humble---Exxon) 800X820 x 15 tire. The worn out ones worked the best for me and they were free at most Humble stations just to get rid of the carcus.

  11. Which along with BF Goodrich is now owned by Michelin. I know, since on slow days, I may have to build tires for all three brands!

Yes, behind the curtain, michelins are made under anal retentive rules. But then so are the others these days too, but not as much as the mitchies.

they were illuminated by light bulbs mounted inside the wheels. supposedly they were made from a single piece of synthetic rubber sometime around 1961. they were featured in the life magazines 30 dumbest inventions.

Pirelli Super Stelvio - as used on the front of many gassers in the 1960s. Note the piecrust type pattern on the sidewall.

  21. Here's another (sort of). The Goodyear Blue Streak Stock Car Special. I say sort of because they make a similar "Sports Car Special" in large Shelby sizes and larger still but nothing in a size to fit the old stock cars. THIS TIRE, the "Stock Car Special" was the first special compound tire specifically designed for NASCAR use and was the dominant tire until Firestone brought the F. 500 to compete with it.

So I'm saying Goodyear Vintage makes some Sports Car Specials but NOT in the old sizes suitable to all the early NASCAR cars that are being cloned or to get that look for the street cars.

    12x16 actually.

There's lots of 10x16" wheels on shelves right now waiting for them.
