The black car is differant at any angle.. That's not going to change the lean on the a-pillars... Not the same car in my opinion.

  20. It is the same car.My friend bought it around '73 or '74 and built it to his liking. He has since restored the nose and mounted it for display out of respect for it's heritage. He's already been beaten on pretty good on here for changing the car. There is a very small percentage of drag cars and hot rods that are still around at all let alone preserved as they were in the 50's.

Why would the guy be beat on for changing it? Look at the original photo that was posted. The car is for sale. Obviously the owner wasn't too concerned about its future. You also have to realise that it was a race car. Racers would have no hesitation in changing it if it meant going faster. And selling it off as soon as it became uncompetitive. I'm guilty on both counts. Don't rag on the guy. He merely did what most rodders would have done. At least it didn't suffer the fate of so many cars on this forum. Thrown out in the woods to rot.

Sorry if the guy feels "beaten up," but unfortunately, that sometimes happens when you do this kind of stuff...(I will bite my tongue).....

I would take the car either way. It still looks bad ass the way it is now it just needs a bigger pump under that blower. I would just like to have a real steel 5 window!!

Its his car, therefore he can do with it what he wants.
That being said, it brings a tear to my eye as I really like the Blu Bird version a lot more!

The car before becoming the Blubird belonged to Dick Morse a good friend of Rick Biggs.
