I know I'm like 45 minutes early but I wanted to get these posted so I can head to bed. I finished two cars this week, a 59 El Camino that was inspired by a real 59 here on the HAMB. I call it "Switchblade 327"

  19. Seems to be a race car theme today.
I don't normally build race car models, but in 1999, I was paid by the Franklin Mint to produce some "marketing study" cars from exisiting diecasts that they had. These models were passed around to sales managers, GM and Chrysler execs. etc. Franklin Mint decided not to market any of these, even though NO model of Dale Earnhardt's rookie car had ever been produced. Seems like they would have sold a bunch of those, if not the other ones. Oh well,,,,,,after 2 years, they were given back to me.

Here is some pics of a 60 Chevy SMP from E-bay, check out the roof treatment. I really get off on old model builds, this is pretty neat and it lasted all these years! Looks like 59 Olds fins on each side of the sunroof. Heres another pic of a vintage model show table. That 40 and 36 Ford coupe have had all the door and trunk openings working. Cool stuff.:D

I hadn't even had my first birthday yet,but one of my future mentors was
kickin ass with some models. Not that this will mean much to those here, but for me it is a who's who of gearheads that inspired me in my youth much
later. Hooper went on to van building fame in the 70's and Norman Edwards
    works for me now.
