If anybody is currently deployed or knows someone who is send me a PM with a god address and I will send out a Hot Rod type magazine package. I am not here to promote myself as I have done this for quite a few guys on different forums and don't want any praise. Problem is all you F'kers have come back and I have a ton of mags ready to go. What nobody still there?? Is Obama's plan that good? ANYWAY....

Anybody who knows someone send me a PM. I will send them out till I am out.

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can attest to that Shocker. I'm currently in Afghanistan and I set myself up with a subscription with StreetRodder before I left. It saves my wife the legwork and all she has to do is go to the post office which is a mile if that from our house. I cant wait to get back so I can work on my 47 Ford. I'm going to un*uck the screwed up rearend setup. Four more months to go, and many more days and nights on this website.

The wife and I have been sending packages every week to the guys in Joyce co. Any APO addy you get a few dollars discount and we use the Box priority method. Our son is over there now so the communications are not possible other than mail. They need many things but most of all to be reassured we all care.

Can he??? Not only can he, but he WILL! As fast as the ones he said he would send arrived, he obivisouly had them packed and ready to ship! If only my wife wouldve sent me stuff as fast as Brian did! Stand up guy. Just needs a real name and real APO address as they will not send anything addressed to "Any Soldier" any more.

I met a few Aussies in the DFAC in Kuwait on my way back home. Nice guys and one of the Lt COL's I was talking to had the coolest weapon... looked like a paintball gun. I think he called it a AUG. I wanted to offer to clean it for him just so I could take it apart it was so neat looking but one of the other guys with me stopped me before I could (he was with me as I traded a few Iraqis patches and ordered me not to try to trade him anything). It was the custom of rifles.

Back to the top for this one. A great idea. Presently, I and the members of my club are sending boxes of magazines that we collect at our monthly meetingd to a HAMB member that is stationed in Afghanistan. He disseminates them to the troups in his area. While some of the mags we collect are older than some of the guys in his troup, he tells me that they are really appreciated. I'm very fortunate to be able to do this for the guys and gals that are over there in that hell hole looking out for us back home.

Get off your duffs and do something for our troups...

Evening bump (here in kuwait anyway). Brian, my first name is Steven if you dont get my pm. I am here trying to read a old street rodder and wishing I was home with my wife and kids for the holidays!! It sucks but, I know its part of it. Yea the Aussies have some cool weapons they look like toys actually. And, they are very short compared to the 39 inches of the M16 that the Navy lets me play with.

Yeah, the Styer AUG is a cool looking weapon. You can get the AUG/A3 here in the states when you're back for good. Check out the web site for some gun porn.

I've got the highest highest respect for anyone who is or has served in the armed forces.

Anyone that wants a package sent over to them just PM me and I'll get stuff out ASAP. Send me a list of needs, and I'll do what I can.

I've sent care packages to guys in Iraq before, even drop shipped some needed supplies from Brigade Quartermaster. I'm willing to put my wallet where my mouth is. Heck, if they sold war bonds, I'd be buying them.

We could sure use some beer over here. . . .

But more seriously, magazines, especially tradtional magazines, are great as we can only get your typical PHRM, HRM, Car Craft, tuner stuff, etc. mags. No HR deluxe, no R & C, no rockabilly stuff.

My fellow Suedes sent me, among other things, a pinewood derby car kit. Every soldier is issued a Gerber, so we have a knife to carve. I haven't had this much fun in months. Been going for the '30s indy car look. My thumbs only have a couple holes in them so far!!

As hot rodders, we all understand the need to create something. In this way, magazines get frustrating after awhile. A pine wood derby car is a cheap way to put a smile on a hotrodders face when he can't create anything else. . . just my 2 cents.
