Here's the story behind it: I have been ramblng on for years that I wanted a coupe and would basically talk anyone's ear off that would even give me the slightest interest. I was rambling on to my neighbor about how badly I wanted a coupe and she said that her dad used to own one, but she thought is was a 1949 or something. She really had no idea what year it was. She didn't remember much about the car but she thought it was still around. Anyways, I told her that is she ever found out any more information about it, to let me know.

Fast forward to earlier this year. I buy a coupe project from a HAMB member here and drag it home. My neighbor takes one look at it, and she says, that the same type of car that my Dad used to have! Well, it takes her about 7 months to track the car down and figure out who actually owns it, if anyone. The family basically decided that the mother was still the rightful owner, so I bought it from her. One of her sons was going to scrap it for the metal! He just recently scrapped the radiator and hood (apparently it was easy to remove).

Her uncle owned the car through the 1950's and early 60's. He passed away and gave it to her Dad. He started to do some work to it and passed on himself. The car sat in a shed from about 1970 which basically fell in around the car. One of the sons (he's close to 50 years old) pulled the car out from the remnants of the shed last year to scrap it! Yesterday morning my neighbor's husband and I drove up to PA and saved it.

As far as plans, I don't know yet. As crazy as it sounds, I may try and see what I can do to get the 4 cylinder running. It looks like it may have ran when parked in the shed 40 years ago. But, eventually it will be a hot rod. I think I want to go early 60's vintage with this one.

YES! Persistance pays off, for sure. But at what price? I MIGHT find something like that, BUT--if I did I couldn't afford the price. A good friend of mine has a favorite saying that applys to a LOT of us methinks -------- "If you gave it to me, I still couldn't afford it". But great find -- great car. Good luck with it.
