Hot Turkey--Since you are spraying out in the open with dust and evrything, how has your finish come out? How smooth? I forgot if it's single stage or is there a clear that goes on top that you will buff or sand out? Are you spraying HVLP?

In your opening sentence, you said "I hate glass". Personally, I love it. If there were no glass bodies, so many of us couldn't afford to build these cars. I sure wouldn't be able to swing a gennie 33 -3 window in steel, especially a really nice one. Viva Glass!

What did you use to bond the steel to the glass? I had a 32 glass/steel body I had to do some repairs to where the two met just curious. Looks good man I have a rear window inside frame if you need it it's unchopped (glass). Cheers....Ellis

Hey man, sweet ride, love the color, but I think you need more practice painting. I've got a ride I'd let you work on next, so long as you promised to do at least as good a job on it. ;)

I hate it because of the itchiness and the fact that the glass body needs more work than steel. My desire to have a 32 3 window overpowered my whining and bitching so I went for it. I'm glad I did but wont do it again.

The finish is great, after wet sanding of coarse. I have a ton of clear so I can sand out the crap. I clean the floor and wet it down to keep the dust down. The only problem is the bugs. I will build a make shift booth when I spray the body. I'm using two stage paint. Epoxy primer first then two coats of sanded urethane primer and a wet coat of dark grey sealer primer before color. Clear is high solids so no hvlp.

The only spot I bonded metal in was the windshield hinge supports. I used a ton of cloth and resin.

Pure dedication! Your build is fantastic, the attention to detail is incredible and will be worth every minute you've ploughed into it. When you roll up at Billetproof make sure you get a photo of that big cheesy grin on your face!

Finished the wet sanding! Just a few small pin holes to touch up. I'm going to need to spend a few days working on the doors. I have to fab up the internal mechanisms for the handles. I also need to get the bottom of the body painted, that's going to be fun....

All that sanding, it's all going to worth it in the end. I can wait to see that baby in color.
