Snowed here yesterday, now it's pushing 55 degrees today... If it keeps winter from being 6 months long here in NY, I say bring on the global warming.
Thanks everyone for the weather reports... but like Willie Nelson once said " If you want to know what the weather is doing stick your head out the window".
1985 or 6 my memory is too short ..I was in Orlando and the roads were closed--Jacksonville was shut down due to a snow storm..next day it was 90+
I'm used to a down pour up here in Portland... but it's been really mild. today is cold... but Sunny! No snow... we got a SHIT TON last year though... that was amusing!
Boy howdy just like a bunch of "good O'l boys" to make a big deal out of a half inch or so of white stuff. Looks like a good day to stay in the house or the shop and stay warm and dry. It's cold but clear here and the snow is up on the hills and mountains were it belongs. I just checked and our local top of the pass ski resort is still a bit short on snow http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/passes/white/default.aspx <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
WTF?! Texans get snow, and there probably isn't one snowmobile IN Texas. Those of us in the northern climes, who are also vintage(and contemporary) sled fans want to have a long talk with Al Gore. It's not fair!!!
I saw the big flakes coming down and thought of crap now the stores will be over crowded with people buying water and can goods for the 2 hour snow in...only in Texas can snow flurries cause havic, but a tornado and people will see how close they can drive towards it Hehehehehe
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, looks like you're gonna need some help with that, stop and pick up beer and pizza, I'll be right over
Up here in VERMONT where it is suppose to be snowing this time of year we have sunny skies with a few clouds and 50 degrees. Have not seen snow yet this winter. Our ski resorts are dying!! But I don't need much heat in the garage.
Driving tips from those in the snowy North East: pump the brakes, unless you have ABS, then by no means pump the brakes. Bushes will stop you, trees will hurt you bad sliding into curbs breaks mag wheels really good find a good front end shop, make friends Trust me on this. I know.
I remember the big storm in Atlanta in the nineties, everything was closed for two days, practically a riot at Kroger, they cleaned the shelves BARE, nothing left. I was in buckhead at the time, and it was amusing watching the yuppies wreck their suv's and slide into each other. I watched a jeep wrangler that couldn't get out of a ditch with a half inch of snow. I'm originally from Northeast Ohio, so it was a riot. We only close things if the plows can't get out.
Ha ha.......It'a only 50 degrees here today in Massatwoshits. Going to hit 60 or better tomorrow with some heavy rain predicted in the morning. 60's for Friday then maybe show showers on Saturday. You know what they say about New England weather.........." If you don't like the New England weather , stick around for a minute."
I laughed so hard today when a buddy who works at DFW as a cop text me today with 1/8" of (texas snow) SLEET, on his windshield and he was freaking out. I saw some flakes about 4 weeks ago but the HOT Iowa ground melted them before they hit. Still snow free up here!!! Maybe Texas isn't as nice as they all say!!!
