So I'd been talking to the head of Steadfast engineering and manufacturing ...
And here is what we came up with for a universal subrail kit for the A body on a 32 rails..

I'll be doing a little tech post showing it installed.
But it might be a week or so..

The "Colorado Kid" has a raggy old 28 roadster we will be using as a sample.
Here is a couple more pic's..

Is this designed for pinched rails, or body on top, and the new subrail kit shows and fills the gap?

This is a very exciting development. I love the look of Model A bodies on 32 rails.

Eric, It looks like you just knocked the shit out of the tubing market. That looks great! Similar to what I did but much more refined. Kranks must all think alike.

Ok you have my full attention as I have a deal in the works for a sedan body that needs exactly what you are showing.

I'm subscribing to this one right now.

My computer is running poorly so i can't see the photos but I'm interested. I have a '30 Roadster that will go on a '32 frame someday. It's in pieces now and I'm in the process of getting everything fixed and assembled so I can fit and align things. Once it's perfect stone stock I'll think about the kickup modification.

The kit is available now.Riley Automotive exclusive ! :)
We did a small run,and came up with a price of $375.00
Hope that is in the ballpark for most guys.
Did have a fixture built, the arc fits the frame very well.

Rick Sis,it is for the rear of the body, where the 32 frame is curved up.
Not a 100% bolt on,will still take some fab skills.

Hope to have some more pictures in the next few days.
Doing this one on my "spare" time..

Yes, That sounds fair to me. Do you agree that I'm on the right track getting my '30 Roadster body fitted perfect, just like a new Brookville then replacing the subrails with your kit? I'm guessing the wheel well bottoms get cut to follow the frame kickup. :)

You know what I'm thinking? I have the rails that Ionia uses and they are kicked up an inch higher than American Stampings, I think? I'd have to check with Matt but I'm pretty sure they're JW rails. What rails have you patterned them off or?

I agree, get the body fitting good before cutting on it.
The wheel wells can stay stock, and the frame tucks up behind them.
Or you can trim them to follow.

Tradition would be leaving wheel wells stock, like this black roadster.

    JW,has the stock rear kick.
It will fit, unless Matt modified the rails.
(if they got tipped up,still a easy fit)

I've had them on JW,ASC,So-Cal frame so far.

Excellent!! Everyone I know who does this has been pie cutting tubing ala Rolf for years. I was wondering when this niche would be filled, glad its you!

Yeeeesss!!! My '29 roadster needs some sub-framing anyway. This'll really help to mount it to the '32 frame. Thankyou.

  24. Damn it Eric. You are going to bankrupt me.

Another neat way to do what sometimes gets sorta butchered in the process. I'm thinking your going to sell a lot of those in the future.

  27. You have lots of nice stuff Vaphead!
    add this to the pile

DANG ! Wish I had that kit last summer when I was fighting with square tubing.
A really nice product. Price isn't too bad either.

  29. Just ordered a set. I'm going to need them in a couple of weeks. Might as well do it now. Before Eric sells out and I have to wait for the next production run. Merry Christmas to me!
