Lettering on model a pickup

    All pictures 789.jpg The owner of this truck ask me if i could take liberty off the doors and put leland. I suggested that i just redo the doors and retane the patina. He said you're the painter, do what you think is best. He is picking it up tomorrow..... Hope he likes what i came up with. Hope yall like it too!!!

    For different reasons, I'm not a big fan of "patina", but in this instance it seems to work.

    nice work, I like it and i'm sure he will too. what did you do to get that worn affect on the lettering? sandpaper?

    If he doesn't like it...man I would not know what to say to him!!at least what NICE to say to him!! great job. Should be pleased I would think.

    its an ancient chinese secret! I let the paint dry. Then use scotch brite to scuff it up, then i polish the area to get rid of most of the scratches.sanding scratches is what usually gives it away as being fake.i'm sure there are many ways to do it.
     
  19. I like that a lot! Putting fresh-looking lettering on that truck would've looked way out of place. What you did really makes that truck look right.

    I'm not a big fan of patina either, but it looks very good in this case. Very nice!
