Just found this thread....here is my RPU, first built in 1956 by ME and I still have it....(I was a lot younger in 1956). 3 different engines, 4 or 5 paint jobs, etc. It has been to the Nats in St Paul, Spokane, been to Bonneville, etc. Lots of great fun.

Hey Russ V., Chip Quinn here from Phoenix! I met you at the H.A.M.B. meet and greet at the Southwest Nats. the other week. Nice to see your truck on this post! To keep from totally highjacking this thread I should mention that I have a '29 roadster p/u highboy out in the garage.

This is one of the baddest little RPU's ever. I have this one framed in my layer.

Haven't posted pics of my progress in quite a while, I think I like mine better than the "new" brookville version ! Mini tubes made by Don C. at OL'55 out of heavy gauge steel,Utilized coupe fenders without narrowing them or the box.

Learn me something... What years are the ones that are more rounded??? you know the ones that look like a wheelbarrow where the cab and bed meet.... Like the one attached...

I think those would be considered 26-27 Roadsters with a pickup bed attached. The actual RPU have a flat back instead of the t bucket body that you have posted.

No...26-27 roadster and roadster pickup used the same tub. They were only flat backed in 28-29.

The stock 26-27 rpu box had filler panels on the front of the box to fill between the flat front of the box and the curved/radiused quarter panel of the bucket.......same bucket used for passenger roadsters.

That is a RPU, the only T's that are kinda flat out back are cut down touring bodys. Some just lop off after the b post and added a flat back.....sometimes a pick up box.

    This is the original RPU.

Yes...that is originally a RPU. But if anyone wants to trade my bed for you're turtledeck...I'm interested.

Yep, what he said. Mine was (is) a touring car, and it looks kinda flat with the section behind the doors. It's just because the rest of the body has been cut off and the seat back is all that is rounded.
