  1. i just ask cause i inherited a 72 bagged chevy truck project, im in the process of figuring out wtf to do. i got a set of wide whites that came with it, 5 lug chrome smoothies thatd fit much nicer on a 60-66 c10

and i just bought a JD2 tubing bender and i gotta get some dies. your work looks amazing and this build is real inspirational, thanks for the info i appreciate it.

That is some pretty impressive work. I have a 61 chevy and was looking to do something similar especially with the front end. A question for you do you think that crossmember would work for the 61 or not? What is the different about the 63 that this wouldn't work on my 61?

  8. if im not mistaken your 61 has torsion bars and the front frame section is a totally different stamping

Ok, here's some updated pics. I was planning on having the truck on the ground tonight. My A.D.D. kicked in and I started a long process on the lower front control arms. I wire wheel'd and shaved, so on...Before the control pics, are the one off'd trans mount.

Nice work ..... And thanks for a well documented and informative thread .

Personally it's overkill , but I think I learned a fair bit seeing it in excess .

Yea I made the mount almost a inche shorter than stock. With that mod, I was able to flip the trans-member upside down to allow clearance between the bellhousing and trans tunnel and still lay frame/ maybe body in this case.

Man I'm getting old, I wrote "our" instead of "are". Its fixed now. Either to much beer, or not enough sleep. Pointless FYI.

Looking good man, judging by those trailing arms I'm guessing you've done a prerunner or two also?

Oh the small 90*1/8" fittings are for the gauges. Each bag will have its own needle. FYI
