I am trying to find a tailgate for my friends 1949 F3 and a guy has one and gave me the measurements but we're not sure if it's from an F1 or F3... can anyone tell me how mant inches tall and wide their F3 or F1 tailgate is so i can figure out if this one is correct???

    Thanks

Think that the pre49 are smaller than the 50 up. Best to check with somewhere like Mac's:D

Just measured my F1. Measures almost 50 inches wide in the middle and a little over 19 tall. The tailgates are the same dimensions on F1s from 48-52 but the chain loops are different from 48-50 and late 50-52. Early the chain loops are inline with the topmost roll and late the loops sit below the top roll on the gate. The f2 and f3 gates are all the same from 48-52. Hard to tell the big from the small with just a picture, you really need a measurement.

I've got a 1952 F1 tailgate sitting around, it's a little dented, but not beyond an easy repair.. If that's what you need PM me.

The one the guy has is 55" x 22" so must be correct from what you guys are saying

    Thanks! :)
