If you do end up needing replacements, might I suggest you buy 'smarter' bolts.

ya know the entertainment value is worth the hamb alliance membership alone.

  8. I hear ya, "stupid bolts" hide from you, they strip, they break....what's with them anyway?

  9. True value or Ace. As in Ace is the place with the helpful Hardware Man.

Fiddle fart around and find a bolt that is the same thread. There is bound to be one as for instance the speedo drive?

Take it with you. And tell the helpful Hardware you are looking for some stupid bolts.

If you can't find your bolts OR your ass, is it possible your bolts are IN your ass? Just a thought.

This is a very simple fix...dissassemble the trans, then put it back together. Then you can use the "extra" bolts that are left over. Ya never know... you could even end up with an extra clutch plate for next time.

  14. you just put them someplace safe

How special are they? Maybe they got left on the short bus while going to school.

Not special. They are 6mm, in the more coarse of the two threads, I forget. The originals have a flange on them that acts as a washer. Some better hardware stores, like OSH in California, have 'em. If you can't find those just use a washer and call it a day.

Keep looking...As soon as you buy new special bolts the original ones will show up. At least that is how it works in my shop.
