Is that front SBC in backwards? The mag is in the front.

Wait, on closer look, does that thing have a drive axle up front? Weird.

Yep, two driving the rear wheels and one driving the front axle.

Time to hi-jack the thread ( i do this alot)

    1) Please Describe, in great detail, how 2 or more engines are connected to one another in for example, such multi-engined dragster applications and/or multi-engined tractor pull applications.

    a) How can they run?, actual part #'s if available, etc.

    P.S.
    2) Let's come up with a formula to determine when too many engines equals no further benefit; In other words when do things get too heavy for any further acceleration benefit and it would be better (faster) to actually have less engines than planned/desired.

i don't have time to figure this out, but you do?

On a deal like the HAMB, a little feel for history, not to mention engineering , wouldn't hurt. Pretty funny though.

  8. Oh yeah its real. Only the back 6 engines are used for launch, the front 6 act as ballast to hold the front end down, so no unneccessary wheelie bars. The front 6 kick in in pairs as the car gains speed, with the last pair coming on at about the 1000 ft mark for an incredible top end charge. It runs on an 80/20 mix of methanol and tabasco sauce, and has a kickstart to save weight. AND its street legal.

So each motor is turning at twice the RPM as the one in front of it! Brilliant!:p

A friend had a 73 or 74 olds convertble, big and heavy! It had so much weight you could floor it and it would spin the back tire's at anything below 45 mph. Power to weight. If that was real the axle's or pinion would break like toothpics.......

If you zoom way in on it it's obvious that it's a photo shop.

Thanks for the link; Although i didn't quite find what i was looking for, i did find some other interesting stuff which i'll get to in a moment.

    1) Perhaps i should be more specific; Let's forget about the side-by-side and/or ivo stuff for a sec. Not that those aren't awesome in their own right.

What i need to know is how, specifically, is say, one SBC connected to another SBC when they are run one behind the other.

    a) how are they started?
    b) how are they "sync'd" up?
    c) actual part #'s if available.

    2) If a twin mill replica (assuming you could either get rights to copy or just outright copy it and call it something else) could be built, how much do you think it would sell for?

I read somewhere about a inline twin engine dragster where there was a sprocket on the rear of the crank and one on the nose of the crank hub on the other engine. They were linked together with a piece of double roller chain. Looks like alignment would be pretty critical though.

The original car is bitchin. What year was it built?
    Top ingenuity !
    Gotta love those dual slicks!!!!
Now try figure out what the other partecipants of the local drags must
have felt when that thing pulled next to them back then on the golden days of the drags!
    Priceless!

Ha-Ha I'd just hope the guy had a sparkplug company sponsoring that thing. It would take a platoon to change and gap 96 plugs between rounds.

It was built in 1962, later stretched with a full body painted purple. He crashed it at Sand Valley Oklahoma somewhere around 1965 or so. I don't think anyone knows where the remains are.

Reminds me of a red motorcycle I'd seen with 24 or so weedeater engines for power.
