Thinking of putting a t-5 5spd to my flathead in my 50 ford. Has anyone done this, if so where does the shifter come through the floor at and where do you buy the parts to convert it? Thanks [email protected]
to have the shifter come through the floor in the proper position forward of the bench seat, you will need a t5 from an s10 pickup.the car t5's are mounted too far to the rear of the tailshaft and would only work in a bucket seat application. do a t5 search here..there are many threads on this subject.
Do a searce or look in the tech section. It has been talked about a thousand times. You can use the stock bellhousing so you don't need an adapter. But you will need a S-10 tailpiece, top plate and the shifter.
Mark Kirby/Shaddo Rods makes a fantastic adapter for the Mustang T5 to flathead. You can put an S-10 tailhousing on a ford world class T5 as mentioned above, makes for a simply awesome transmission.
