I like it too...it'd be cool to fix up and actually DRIVE...I bet it doesn't have too many miles under it and would be a good candidate for a driver.

Think how fun it'd be at local cruises...and to rock out at Super Chevy shows where it'd be the wildest thing many of the resto guys have ever seen.

I dig it, and it needs Webers or something under the hood to look 'right' IMO.

I'd love to see it on Supremes with pinner whites...

  2. I like it, there's a few things I would have done different but it works. That original paint is pretty wild -

I don't care for seventies customs, but that one's pretty kool, and needs a good owner.

Great Discovery on the photos Rikster best ones yet.. I talked to Joe about two months ago, he said he would send me some snaps of it but nothing as of yet.

I really appreciate it and it helps in regard to getting something that really shows what the car looked like in the beginning...

Way different then what it looks like today....

    Good Stuff,

    Thanx again....

I remember the Tridents Car Shows downtown LA. They were the best shows and what ever happened to the Tridents Car Club ? The Wolfman

I love how daring people were in the 70's. it seems like anyone is afraid to do anything that isn't a normal, traditional custom (yeah, yeah, it's the board for it, but still)

  12. I can't think of any cute put downs.
Put it under paint and it is cool.

Interesting thing, Bailon cars don't always find great acceptance here.A few years back I posted some pics of a 50 Merc he built that a acquaintance of mine now owns. Not many people here had a much nice to say about it.

I own a couple of 65 Impala's. The custom from the 70's took a lot of work to build. Would be a shame for it to not be restored.

I stumbled across a forlorn Merc Joe did back when I lived in Texas 6-7 years ago and posted some pics here. I was surprised it didn't get much interest.

  24. I'm always amazed that a high dollar (at the time) show winning customized car can end up in such disrepair over the years. I guess they get old and forgotten about after the styles change or, as in this case, the loving owner has something happen to them. You would think it would always be taken care of pampered after all that work. Hope someone saves this. Like it or not it's a part of custom history.
