If you search Hellzapoppin on the HAMB you can read some of the history and see more pictures.

Helzapoppin was a favorite at Dover, and this car car has been around in this guise for a while, my understanding though the years is that it's the real thing. There were several chassis, updated as most stuff is, pretty sure this is the earliest one, or at least the earliest one I remember. It woud be a great one to restore.

[IMG]That's the car in the eBay auction, and this color photo is one in my collection I posted years ago. "Alley Oop" the Lyndwood I'm restoring ran side by side "Hellzapoppin" many times. If I had the funds I'd be a bidder. Whoever wins it should give it a propper restoration, I've got about 5-6 photos of it, both injected and blown.

I did my research right here on the HAMB. Searched Hellzapoppin and found that Ronnie Abbott had at least two frames. The one for sale appears to be the genuine chassis used in '61-'62 seasons. Regards, Ron

Crandall & Robinson, from the Utica-Rome area in NY also ran a "Hellzapoppin" car. I'm thinking it was after this one.

Wow,the car went for a real good price for one with so much history. Not too many original Dragmasters around, and that was a neat one.(Sold for like $5200.)

If I tried to remember times from so long ago, would be guessing, but that car was always competitive on a national basis. At 15, used to hitchhike 50 miles to watch it run.

I wonder if it sold of was "saved" by someone with a (0) feedback? Heck of a deal at that price.

    Hi
I finally got my logon problem corrected, I hope??.
Here is a picture of my dragster finished and on display at the Foxwood Casino & Resort show this past June. I will be at the POCONO DRAG LODGE Reunion Aug 6th. Was at the York reunion and a lot of history about this chassis was given to me. Hope to see any of the race fans that remember her at one of the up-coming show.
    Thank for your interest,
    Bobby.

That's a real nice Dragmaster frame, 2 hoops and all. The Starlite I was the same frame, about 100 in. WB

Sorry for not getting back to all of you, had a funfull season going to show and getting a lot of info on my dragster, even been in touch with Dode Martin (of Dragmasters the builders). He was great with the info he told me about her. This picture is from one of the show, it was taken by fm friend Les. Updates for the 2012 season, I'm doing new front 19" wheels, got a set of never used Chassas Research hubs, my friend who has the custom bike shop and is making the wheels got me a set of Avon tires from England and the rims from Italy and polished S/S spokes. Also the hubs were chromed and I had the rest of the front end peices chromed as well. I think I'll keep the original MOON hubs and tires that are on her in this picture for special nostalgia shows. I plan to be at Bowling Green with her and try and get into the cackle event. Thanks for your interest in her, maybe see ya's at BG.
