When Munster first mentioned chopping his coupe I was definitely one of the nay-sayers. I just love the lines of an unchopped coupe. However, after seeing what you have done, I'm quite convinced that the chop was the way to go! It looks so bitchin'!!! You do some great work!!!

Munster and I drove around the block, today, sitting on milk crates giggeling like little schoolgirls, it was fun.

Nice work Ian looks perfect. looks like he might be having trouble deciding on hub caps. I like both caps , Its always hard to settle on something when you have so many options. This car is bad ass, good job man.

Hahaha. I thought if he was acting like a school girl you might have tried to cop a feel.

  18. WOW!! That thing is a grand slam. Best looking early 50's Chev I think I've ever seen.
Great thread watching the transformation. Those tail lights are tits too.

Thanx a lot all of you!!:)

Jason, the car is not finished, i have a section left to grind down and a bit of hammer and dolly, then garnish. The car ain't flawless by any means but the lines are there and the proportions are right. I really wish i knew how to lead, it really wouldn't take much to smooth it out.... but i don't!!!:(

Im extremely happy that Munster is stoked!! It's the ultimate reward!!!:)

Hard to add to what's already been said, but i'm going to add my thoughts anyway :)
That IS one of the nicest looking chop's i've ever seen on an early Chevy.
    Absolutely perfect profile and flow.
    Excellent job!!
You have a lot to be proud of!

that is just perfect lines! I admire the metal work! Really, awsome, it is too cool that you put it out here on the hamb for everyone to see and you have almost no meetal shaping history. You are learning right in front of all of us. You really do have a good eye for the shape.

also, just a suggestion to everone that make their ride sit like this one. You gotta chop it, just doesnt look right without a chop.

Sounds like a few minor tweaks to take care of. The chop really did turn out great. The arc from the top of the A pillar all the way back to the sail panels looks so smooth. I think creating those small curves at the rear corners of the quarter windows did a lot to open that space up. The quarter windows don't look too small or cartoonish because of that little detail. Even the lean of the B pillar flows nicely towards the front of the car. Just plain cool!

Thanx a lot Tony!!!!:):) Im very relieved, let's just put it this way!!

:eek::eek: LOL!! Im glad you like it..... you car next??:D

Hey Brah, I never thought i would be able to chop a car and maintain the roundness, im so happy homie. Like i said earlier, it ain't flawless, but it'll need only a skim coat. Again i learned a few things on this one, there's some cuts i would do different and leave a little bit more metal above the drip rail, it's VERY hard to work with 1/2" of metal around the drip rail and trying to make it go another direction. Next time i'll leave 2 inches. Thanx for the kind words Brah!!:D

Well that's your next step then. Progression through learning my man!! You have that hard part under your belt I would imagine. Leading will probably come easy to you.

I guess, but it seems expensive to learn as most of the lead will end up on the ground. i tried a gene's class and i SUCKED, But i only did it for maybe 2 min.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned before, I havn't read all of the posts in this thread, but I really like the subtle lean to the B pillar; it makes the chop in my opinion.....
