Here's my recently acquired '56 'Bird. It is Thunderbird Green in color w/ a white top. The previous owner did some updating such as an injected V8, Vintage Air HVAC and an AOD. The car has been a project in process, and needs a lot of 'shaking out' etc so that's where I came in and am having a great time with it!

  4. Yeah- That works...

  5. Here's the little yellow bird that flew into my garage a few weeks ago. '55 with 292 / 3-speed. I've got a lot of projects planned for it this winter.

Do you accept Tbirds of all sizes, or just the big ones?

Here is my 1961 with a fresh paint job

I am working on the frame now. here is what they looked like new.

I also have an original 1966 gas powered version that is getting an engine rebuild now. I will probably sell this body with a reproduction frame and use the original frame with one of my reproduction 65-66 Mustang bodies? Note how the gas and brake pedals are clear out by the grille and the steering is up high so an adult can fit in. And the pull cord to start comes through the floorboard between your legs.

And I also own the factory body molds for the 1957 Thunderbird JR so I can make as many bodies as I need.

and the Original factory body molds for the 58-60 so I can make them also.

This afternoon I am going out to look at the first prototype of the reproduction frames. I have been making replacement parts and bodies for these for years but there has never been an available frame until now.

Unfortunately, mine doesn't make the cut. (not even for the HAMB itself).
'68 429. All original, 56K on the clock.

Sorry I do not have the molds for that year. and originals are tough to find.

I am considering selling my 61 to put the money into my 58 Desoto Firemite JR but I probably should finish the conversion from electric to gas first?

Just got off the social page and I am in. Here`s a pic {I hope} of the wife`s bird. 351 cleveland, edelbrock heads, computer controlled AODE trans, 3.89 tru track in the 9" disc brakes. I will probably get thrown out the Hamb for such modern stuff.

    So does 66 count?
Not quite on the road yet, but working on it.

I know my 73 is too new, but it was my grandfather's car, so I keep it original.

You're not alone, my '56 has a 5.0 EFI, AOD, front discs, etc and I think the blending of the '50's style and benefits of modern items can work out well. On the wheels, what have you found to be the optimum width and backspacing for these cars? Is an 8" wide a good fit or is there room for more?

I got 2, a 56' & 62' Roadster. Until I get this pic postin' thing down you'll just have to take my word for it....or not.

  22. Been a member of the social goup since this arrived, but another bump with a picture...my '56...in the middle of a top end rebuild of the 312...
