I can stop laughing! I own the worlds uglyist 36 and who is Pablo. I got to do some Vodka and an eight ball to keep this going.
Well its positive its a one off rig. Very different and out of my taste range but someone had to love it to keep it this long since Escobars death.
The Accountant's Story By Roberto Escobar. These guys spent $2500/month on rubber-bands for their money. They built the prison they were housed in, along with hospitals, schools and churches. Bringing them to justice was a serious issue, then. They financed a whole country/political system. shock733, Pablo Escobar's 1936 3 window is a brilliant name for your custom. I'd roll it just like that and claim the name along with the "how fucked up do you gotta be to build this?" catch phrase.
You should leave it as is. Tour all the high schools with it as a lesson for kids to stay off drugs! Scared straight.
Looks like it has had a 39 cowl and firewall welded in up front since it has overhead wipers and a Vee-ed windshield. OUCH! The hood is a 40 Deluxe. The tops of the front fenders and parts of the grille look 51-52 Ford pickupy. Love that dual bucket seat rumble setup!
I think the front end is, to put it politely...."freakish"! But I kind of like the rest of it....even (or maybe especially) the Art Deco-like molded in rear fenders! A different front end, about 3 inches off the top, a bit of lowering all around (air bags maybe?) and some 16 inch white-painted steelies with baby moons and wide-whites and a pair of fender skirts on the back and that thing could be very, very COOL! Mart P.S . I wonder if when Escobar owned it, he had many parts on the car "powder-coated" (LOL) =============================
That's 100% correct. I go to Colombia regularly, Pablo = Paul. Escobar is about as common a last name as Turner. This car is from Bogota, Pablo Escobar was from, lived in and died in Medellin. I'm not saying it's not his car, but he was more of a "back seat in a limo" kind of guy. As far as goodies go, he never saw product, just mountains of money. As a side note, Escobar was not even close to being the biggest or richest cartel, just the flashiest. The people of Medellin are split almost 50/50 as to whether they hate or adore him. He made that city rich, Rich, RICH! A lot of people died because of that meteoric rise of wealth though. I have family there, and I love the city now, but would not wanted to have been there in the 80s or 90s.
Man, that reminds me of a Custom we'd have seen in the mid-late 60's when customizing really got out of hand. If it's THE Escobar, this is another example of a rich gold chainer w/o taste. And of course it's painted white like his product. The front clip is a pull off. All your work is in finding the rear tail pan and seeing if you can save the rear fenders-rolled wheel lip, etc.
Front end sorry. The rest looks impressive. Some one lost intersest or imagination. Like the man said sampling the product.

It will be interesting to see what you find when you strip it down and start in on it but a 36 three window is a 36 three window and guys have started with a lot worse. <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
The pièce de résistance is certainly the crooked brake pedal. Since it has been channeled (I think) I'd consider fixing the '40 hood and putting '40 front sheetmeal on there like the one up in Washington state that shows up at Viva.
Looked at the other pictures I have and it looks like an original 36 cowl. I hope they just slapped spare glass in and didn't kill the original window opening. I think its v shape is from the bad glass install. I checked some vintage photos and I see the wipers on top of 36 coupes. I wonder whats left under that rear sheet metal extension? Was that formed to hide the rust? The front clip has to GO. It's being shipped with an original hood and grill. Now I just need the fenders.
