Well Today Josh finished Glazing the paint, I riveted the hoodsise hardware back on and we carefully fitted the hood..adjusted the grill shell (again!) and stood back...

The hoodsides really change how the car looks..it seems more 'edelbrock roadster' looking than I thought it would, but I love it.

pushed it outside for the first time and took some shots, so here it is.something is WAAY wrong with my camera..its a Leica and its taking worse shots than my Iphone! gotta get that sorted..so sorry about the pic quality.

( can you reset the camera to factory settings in the menu?? )

    Spence.

  7. Nice! Glad to see the exhaust in the proper location. Where are the license plate/light going?

Tyres are Firestone Deluxe Champions all round,
on 4.5" 39 merc wide fives.

    5.50 16 front
    7.00 16 rear

it aint easy to get those 2 1/4 " exhausts thru the frame, then around the tank and totally paralell to the rails..try it sometime!!
yeh licence plate..umm ahhh..undecided. probably on spreader bar, I really like an unadorned arse on 32s. hence the teeny ruby red markers tucked up above the tank. wont be running indicators.
Sorry bout the lack of windscreen frame..3 months to build it? getting a little sick of the excuses from the supplier..Ive learnt not to name names..

Yes I love the wide fives too - am planning on running them on my A ..... What's the difference between the Merc & Ford versions....width??

What are your plans as far as fenders go - it would be a shame to despoil the car of it's current look........

    Licence plates & Fenders!!! :mad::mad::mad:

let me know what wide five stuff you need spence, have lots.
Fenders will be 'short term' if you follow..
licence plates, well , kinda necessary.will try to source and rebirth some early VIC plates, like i did on my Shoebox.

I thought i read that 39 mercs were 4.5 and fords 4" ?? could be wrong,

    Thanks,

    I hear you on the Fe#@3!*'s ;)

    Great idea on the plates!

I do have a few wide fives in my pile..... maybe enough for 1 reasonable set..... ( I hope ).....measured them at 4" I.D where the tyre sits & a smidgen over 5" overall width & I'm pretty sure there standard ford stuff so your info is probably correct.

& get some high res pics on here - I need to update my wallpaper :):)

    Spence.

  14. Ah-hem, been there more than once already.

I hate things hanging below frames.

Beautiful.....just beautiful. I was going to run Wide Fives on my '32 5 window until I got my '35 and decided that I should run them there. Now I plan to run spokes but your roadster has me rethinking that option. Rad!!!

    Yeh wide fives are rAd!
the Mercury caps give them a different look, but I also like the Ford caps with the long drawn out V8 symbol, and the Pilot Caps are cool too, like a baby moon for wide fives!
For some reason these caps and wheels are quite prolific down here, wierd considering they were only a four year wheel, I always see caps and quite often wheels and drums at swap meets.
