If this has been covered yet, I apologize, I couldnt find the info.

Alright, I'm looking at a 1939 Ford 2 door Sedan, and wanted to see some pics of customs, to get an idea of what they can look like.
    Chopped, carson top, etc.......
    Thanks, Chris

Not all cars need to be chopped or radically changed to be cool, and this is a perfect example. I like them lowered but unchopped, most of the chopped ones I've seen, just don't look right.

A local guy Tim drives this one around san diego.

He's owned it since high school and has a long history of using it as a drag car (bracket stuff)
It's had a number of built flatheads. Good sounding engine in there now.

I know... not a 2 door sedan, but you can get a real good idea how the front can be modified to look really good (not that the stock version does not look good, but the Packard grille (or 1940 LaSalle) looks really good in these cars)

I know this is a 1940 Model... but its basicly the same body style. Mild custom with some very nice lines...

1940... but again you get the idea...

I own a '39 Standard 2 door sedan. I haven't done anything yet to it like you're looking for so I'll hold off on the pictures.

I'd tell you this. I've grown to like the Standard but it is a far cry from the classic styling of the Deluxe model. The two models are basically identical except for a few minor changes and the entire front sheet metal. I love mine but personally think the Deluxe model looks better customized.

As far as what I'd like to do to mine and changes I think look good on these cars...Like most cars they look good lowered. Also like in the Paul Kelly scan above I think they look better with the rear license plate and the trunk release handle taken off of the deck lid. I like how that one looks in the rear bumper like that.

Other than that everything else I'd think of doing to it seems like WAY too much work considering how good they look with to start. I do like the one X38 is working on and it's probably the best looking chop I've seen done on one of these but I'd sell mine first and buy something else before I attempted that on mine.
Some of the other chopped ones above probably would look good but the high stance is distracting me and making the cars look strange.

  19. They semed to like those accessory headlights Rik. I've got some but I really don't like the look.

    p.s. Those 1st three sedans are a '38 Standard, not '37. Close, I know.

:)I would have to agree X38's chop is the best by far on any 39/40 sedan done to date.
