i picked up this 28 sport coupe a couple of weeks back out of hesperia..it has been in the guy's family since his grandfather bought it new back 1928..in 85 it got burn in a fire..the top and upholstery got burned and it has been sitting ever since..at one point he try to make a hot rod out it but gave up on it..now its in my backyard wait to be put together..anybody got some pictures of hot rodded sport coupes for some inspiration??
here ya go Ricardo http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t106/lrs30/sportcoupeTRK.jpg bishop welding had one and desoto has one too
Desoto has one bad ass Sport Coupe. The engine alone has the best sound to draw a crowd for miles. Very few cars have a sound that I remember hearing the first time, I remember this one. But enough reminising, you have a great start. Tim
soon after i got it home i began to take it apart..here its is sitting on stands.. for the front i will be using a complete 41 ford suspension i took out of a coupe..i have cut off the perch ends and convert it to over head using a posies spring.. this how it looks with the front suspension mocked up..later on i will be switching the straight axle to a 2'' drop axle.. this will power the coupe..a 41 flathead with a 39 style trans..i will converting it back to close drive and stuffing it with the guts from a 41 ford trans..
Another sport coupe saved. Good progress, on mine I've just got the front suspension back on. 4 inch dropped super bell and reversed posies spring. Running 40 ford brakes.
Fantastic another Sports Coupe, we'll have enough for our own club soon. A few to get started with: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=392851&highlight=model+sports+coupe And here's mine, still is progress, should start going back together next week. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=397702 Keep us posted on yours.
Sportscoupes are bad ass. Everyone turns them into roadsters. Looks sick when people keep them the way they are just chopped down. Was loking at one earlier this year. Going to keep my eye on this one. Deek has a badass one too. Good luck
been working on the doors cut them down about 6 1/2 inches.haven't posted any pics because my camera is busted.going to start to work on the frame just waiting for the motor mounts to come in..soon has i get a new camera i will put pics up..
i did some work to the frame.i installed the motor mounts and z'd the frame.next step will probably a x-member.i want to run the bones un-split so might go with 32 ford bones for oil pan clearance
