nick, hit the swapmeets for the patch panels as they are usually cheaper and they all need some fitting to work.
Thats in my plans also, thanks! Some of them I can make, which is a plus. I just got word from my buddy, we still have plenty of brown left over from my panhead, it may come in handy here!
nick, where did you want me to send the pink faux fur and dingleballs you special ordered - is that for this project?
Some quick updated pictures. The big shit hasnt gone down yet. Right now there have just been some trash can modifications like mentioned earlier. The wood bed rails gone, the array of lights in the back gone, a few of the many antenas gone. And a beautiful shot of the wiring inside! A few things I have learned after we put the truck up on the lift, it isnt a Nova clip, its actually an entire Malibu chasis, at one time someone had some big meat on the back, as you can see the bullshit tubs in the bed and the bed sides are cut, there were coil over mounts on the chasis and a huge drive shaft loop. All in all every thing is pretty good though.
Cool truck! I here the term (A.D.) all the time on here,I owned a 51 and I still dont know what that means? anyone?
I'm cheap,,,so I think some flipper hubcaps would look sweet on that truck,,Brothers is another place to look for some parts too,,,nice truck by the way
it is, you have to see what I go through to open the cowl vent! but when its open its glorious! I am gonna get a Rebel Wire kit for it this week.
Yep just what the kids at the local elementary school need to be seeing when Daddy picks up Junior from school, oh and the Church crowd will be so proud too! C'mon, this is juvenile in the extreme. Gonna be a nice truck too.
well I dont have kids, and dont go to church so I should be all good. The plan is to paint the truck brown (same color as my panhead), its a Vespa color actually, its got a nice gold metalic in it, wide whites 8.20s and 5.60s, painted to match steelies with spider caps. Replace the late model buckets with a bench covered in a vanilla shake with orange piping. The fire wall and engine in the a vanilla shake also. I will start with the wiring and suspension and then on to the body. When we had it on the lift the floors were suprisingly solid, cab corners looked good, the drivers door needs some attention as does the rear cab wall, other than that it shouldn't be all that bad. I've done a few bikes before but this is my first car/truck so we'll see how it comes along.
