Beautiful car black is always timeless - tho the interior looks like the backdrop of a 1970s porno..........
I could just imagine my grubby kids getting half chewed lollies and grubby finger prints all over it.

  4. Beautiful car, gotta love a black 40. I too would leave the grill alone, it's just as Henry designed it.

i gotta say, i think 39'-40' fords always look great! They look like there going 90mph just sittin still! I'd love to build one someday.... just got to wait till my 3 boys grow up and move out. they'd kill each other for the shot-gun seat!

  6. Rad Car! Needs a nerf bar up front, something like Squeek Bell's.

Bitchin 40 I like almost everything about it. Maybe we could have a soup supper or bake sale to help you out with the interior. It crys out for black & white t&r.

Next to my '36 I like 39 Deluxe/40 coupes. Great looking car, I wish someone that can open your attachment would post the interior pic. Since everyone else is giving opinions, I would put stock frt and rear bumpers on JMO. COOL!

  11. Rusty, Congrats on your '40 looks great.

A very nice 40 Ford Standard Business Coupe street rod with jumpseats, a 49 Plymouth rear bumper and a red velour interior done in the 70s.
I wouldn't throw it out of bed for eating crackers.

Check that hood/grille/fender alignment, the hood handle should be down in the notch of the grille center. Hardest thing about owning a 40 is aligning the front sheet metal for good hood fit and the trouble getting in it every day with a boner! Enjoy!

oooh. I likey! guess I can't paint mine black, we don't need 3 black 40's within a 50 mile radius. Now all you need are a set 10" wide cragers in the back to go along with the interior. Or 22"ers which direction you goin?

    bow chica bow bow :)

All 40 Coupes could be black or blue and that would be OK.

  17. I would get naked and roll on that seat.

Let me know if Trent comes to visit. I had better get my ride first, I don't want to stick to the seat.

I've always loved the gloss black ext/dark red velour int combo, one of my favorites! But, I AM a child of the 70's!!!

Congrats. Really nice. Fix the door handle and you're good to go. What rear is in it?

Just pulled in the driveway with it, 100+ miles of hard rain. Quit charging about 10 miles down the road, but battery held up the rest of the way,. Few other minor issues, but ran and drove excellent. It does need the heat hooked up though, right now it is A/C only. Bumper may be tossed next year and stock bumpers front and rear are planned. They lost the stereo face plate somwhere, so no tunes right now. Paint is better than I thought, but still has a few areas of minor checking and chips, but not bad. STRONG 350, and road like a sports car with a big puffy couch to ride on! All in all I really like it. The charging system bums me out though, but should be an easy fix. I'm going to pull off the hood and paint the firewall white si I can be more like Greezy! as he is my hero!!! But that will not happen for a while.

so..your sayin you like boys now??????:D

  25. i think that it's very hard to beat a 38-40 ford as a nice clean stock bodied hotrod, it's an easy formula:

    stance
    straight body
    black paint(shiny)
    nice interior
    hot motor

    done!
