Opinion needed, blackwalls or whitewalls

I am going start turning my coupe into a mild rod (still enjoying it as a stocker) nd need your opinion. This car is going to stay black but paint won't happen for sometime. I would like to drive it in it's original patina for awhile. The wheels are 40 steelies with 40 truck v-8 caps and ribbed trim rings. Should I run big n little firestone blackwalls or wide whites? The wheels are going to be baige or black. This is the car so you can kind of visualize it. Thanks.

 

I think the big and little diamond back, firestones with the biggest w.w you can get. And black shiny rims.

Nice car.
Big n littles might not look so good if its not lowered in front...big space between fender and little tire. Just a thought.
I like wide whites on them.
Maybe somebody can do a photoshop for you.

Don't go with the white walls with the beige wheels it would look like you have a HUGE white wall on there. Beige wheels with the blackwalls would almost have a whitewall look to them. Yeah the look seems to be these days black wheels with blackwalls. But I think the beige wheels with blackwalls with the caps and rings.

 

Black walls are bland. they blend into the pavement.

 

Sorry for not mentioning that there will be a slight rake, dropped axle in front, 2 inch lower in the rear (maybe just removal of a spring or two). I like whitewalls, had 4 inchers on my 53, looked bad ass. Had blackwalls on my 36 with black spokes and looked very slick. Hence my thoughts. Glad some of you are leaning towards whites. Whitewall, black wheel, caps and rings..............Hmmm. Thoughts?

Whites with black steels look good on the A coupes...especially if you keep the car black and keep the fenders.

Like you, I bought my car as a stocker. I messed with it for about a year till I recovered from buying it, then I went ahead and got on with hot rodding it. I used 15X5 rims, but admittedly, 16X4 s look better. I went for the wide white look...

 

Oops...I meant to attach a couple pictures of the car as it looked when I bought it. Before improvements.

WWW's with a nice blue or even pea green rims would look great. Keep the fenders too.

 

whitewalls are way over used. I say blackwalls.

 

I like WW's on a fendered coupe and blackwalls on a fenderless coupe.
