I WANT THAT . just the body.. screw the VW crap, she needs powered by atleast a V8 or a bigblock GMC V6 .
Question is, if a whole load of wild Seventies Kustoms are re-appearing, are we looking at the start of a seventies kustom revival ? Is wild and wackey about to make a come back ? ( I grew up seeing stuff like these at the shows, and it's what got me into custom building, so I can't help but have a certain love of the style, I know that building outlandish creations with limited practical road useablity is looked down on by many, but customs are not meant to be 100% practical )
Never seen such varied opinions about the same thing before. I'm cracking up over some of these responses.
Looks more like a kiddies fairground ride than a 'showcar' to me.Can't anyone one come up with a way to delete the '70's? Paul
Agreed it would be a good parking lot tram/shuttle. Maybe San Francisco. (stadiums, convention center, downtown, etc.) or even a large car swap meet. Looks like it came off of Main St. Disneyland. Stand and drive position makes a Divco look easy. Prolly a VW air cooled engine to avoid fitting a radiator. Paint sure didn't stick to the galvanized front! Asking $10,000. Could maybe get it for less. Someone dig out/scan their 1973 Hot Rod feature!
A little too "Wally World" for my tastes...though I dig the 70's "mild customs" with crazy paint and industrial-size air-scoops
I'm a bit of an amusement park junkie, and if you think that paint is over the top, you're wrong! Trollies and early streetcars were often owned by the the same company that owned the amusement park. The trollies of early days were quite ornate. Check out these early people movers.... Not too far off,eh?
