i am guessing they are welded to the 1/2 " spacers he was adding to space the wheels out from the spring hangers.

Thread revival... Just wanted to say how truly inspirational this build is. I registered and searched for about 30 minutes just to find and subscribe to this thread. Great work.

Mr. Bass, you have got to be the single most talented individual EVER! You are one very talented/gifted man, to be sure. Outstanding craftsmanship and designing. If I come back in a later life, I hope it's as a Brian Bass. Best Regards. Perley

About the welding, It's perfect, but if he can do it, you can do it. That's what I tell myself when I re-read this thread anyway!

Just practice good habits and it will come. How do you think Bass got good. Imagine the amount of TIG practice he's had!!

Looks fantastic Mr. Bass. I'm still going to stop by the shop sometime. . .

Got the body back from blasting on Friday. Tyler at North Texas Customs in Wylie did the blasting, and did a really nice job.

Here's a shot of the body setting on the frame for those of you that have been asking for an update. It's going to need some of the patch panels redone, but overall the body is pretty nice.

I'm pretty happy with how the body fits the frame. I'll fine-tune the fit as I make body mounts and re-work the cowl.

I've been busy trying to catch up on all the other projects I have in the shop, so in the meantime the Wade Coupe and Lindsey have been waiting patiently. I'm just about caught up, so you guys will get to see some more progress very soon.

To hold you over until then, here are a couple of quickie photoshop jobs I did. The windshield area is going to change entirely from what it looks like here (think '34 Ford/ Bonneville car), but the height of the top is probably going to be pretty close to this...

Thanks again guys...I'll keep you posted as progress is being made.

Brian I've got a feeling either this build or the kustom build will get you into TRJ. I sure as hell hope so. You've been kicking so much ass it's unbelievable. Great work!

I'm speechless! This coupe is destined to be an icon and it's builder a legend. I honestly think that future generations will speak of Brian Bass in the same reverential tones we reserve for Doane Spencer and the like.

  27. awesome... and thanks for a ton of ideas... especially on the front end!!!

how much is the frame pinched exactly and where is it done? where are the changes made to the body.

maybe i'll be looking into a set of '32 rails for the 28/9

I just spent an hour of my lunch time going through this whole thread and it was not a waste of time at all. Totally killer car and fabrication work.
