I believe it is a 112 but i am not sure.Can some of you guys that know answer this.Ther are no markings or tags on itThanks
Bandito, That is an Appleton 112.It is from the mid to late 40's.They did not have any stampings on the shell.I have a set I am installing on my 51 Chevy. Hope this helps.
Both the 112's I have in my shop and the ones I had on my Merc had stampings on the shell. Generally 112's come to more of a point in the bucket than 552's. And the original switch looks like the one in the pic. 552's have a twist switch on the end of the handle.
A 112 or 552 would have a flange on the bucker with 3 rivets attaching it to attach to the arm, where it swivels. This is another variant, likely a bit earlier than the 112 series (prewar), and very likely before the 552 series (post war), but could have been made at the same time as 112 series production.
I'd lay money that it's a Lorraine. Especially if there are no "Appleton" markings anywhere. The ring and handle parts are good for restoring a real Appleton.
