    Amazing.

  6. If anyone is interested, Haynes published two books by Gerald Wingrove that did a pretty good job of covering his techniques and models built. The Complete Car Modeler 1 was first published in 1978 and The Complete Car Modeler 2 was published in 1991...they've both been republished multiple times and while not plentiful, are available if you hunt for 'em.

I Think the windscreen needs to be laid back a bit and some lakes style pipes would have been bitchin' but, other than that....not too shabby.

It would be interesting to know the number of hours that went into this project. Mr.Wingrove has waaaaaay more patience then I do. I agree on the paint ... just clear coat it so that it doesn't tarnish.

    1) Creepy, yet wonderful! (there were no captions)

    2) The guy has a lot of patience and is anal. There is nothing wrong with either virtue.

    3) i noticed that cars back then had the engine set back and the front axle set foward. Why do you suppose that was?

    4) Why not build a full size or at least driveable replica?

Wingrove's books are really feasts for the eyes. He provides very clear and detailed instructions to do all the stuff he does. Of course, it sounds easy when he describes it, and it's probably a lot more difficult than it looks.
