There was a 1933 5 window Ford, that went for 30k, I really regretted not getting my finances together and bidding on it.

Anyway justin called me with the news " the sky is falling " well folks when Harah's had their first auction in the early 60's Carl Burnett called all his freinds and they pooled a kitty and bought most the stuff their, originally auctions were for brokers and dealers, and stuff is supost to sell at a discont rate, then came late 80's and the Japaneese and sweads were buying left and right, muscle cars were going beserk , a magazine call the old car price guide came out and some stuff went up 10% a month. at the time I worked at Antigue Automotive , and believe it or not one sunday a van pulled up with Japaneese brokers, they bought everything we had in stock, over 87 cars in one day. the aussis were buying mustang projects, but the cars that were not going up in price were the hobby cars, model t's model A's and early v-8 fords with the exception of the 37 fords, at the time 37 fords were the rage, popularized by my freind Danny Brent, then the botom fell out! the Bush senior recesion hit. the Japaneese market evaporated. Mid year small block vettes went from 60,000 to 15,000 , shelby's went from 120,000 to 40,000 , you couldent give away a 37 ford. 59 cad convertibles went from 120,000 to 25,000 tri five chevys went from 20,000 to 5000, every body lost their butt. Anything that had gone up in value in a hurry came down crashing , but the hobby cars held their ground. The speculators left the room and the only guys that stuck it out were the hobby guys. This time I knew it was comming when I watched the barret jackson auctions, but what seemed strange was this last year I did'nt see any blue chip cars for sale, until now , this last month I have started to see some good deals on some quality cars, and then this auction. Are investors moving their monney around , like Nick Alexander who is selling all of his woodies, several of my freinds who are in their 70's have started to sell their cars, hopefully this auction wont affect the market, and belive it or not the little model A is still selling and in demand.
