a friend of mine had a 40 ford coupe a few years back and he gave this to me yesterday. its a mechanical 2 inch guage. the innitials sw are in the bottom center. the face is black with what looks like antique white numbers.360adf6 is the number stamped on the back of the guage. the numbers go all the way to 80 and go around 4/5 of the guage face, also the glass is flat not curved.sorry i cant add pictures the camera is broken right now.thanks
figuired out the initials. Stewert Warner. still cant figure out how old it is or where it might come from.
F6 means either June of 1938, 1962, or 1986. I'd have to see a picture of the gauge to tell you for sure, but I'm guessing 1962. In '38 the 2 inch gauges didn't have a center mounted pointer. In '62 they didn't either, but a 2-1/16 gauge was made that did, and lots of guys don't measure correctly. And off the top of my head the "360" part number sounds like a 2-1/16" gauge. In '86 it was probably a very similar gauge to the '62, but the tail may have been painted black on the pointer, and it probably had an internal ring under the bezel to diffuse the light more.
