Typically no V/C racing at the Round Up, but Jason has been known to invite folks to the shop for some racing on Sunday.
Gentlemen, can somebody give me a quick recap on the rules for the valvecover race? I think I'm gonna enter this year. thanks
I think the rules are pretty simple. they gotta be gravity powered. which sucks, because I had a pretty good idea involving model rocket motors. and teflon. and 1 stick of double mint chewing gum. that and they need to be short enough that they fit in the starting lanes. a standard issue skateboard will fit. however, I am pretty sure most inline 6 valve covers will not, unless You have some creative wheel placement and ballast control.
just a little reminder for a certain 8 yr old...... Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the event this year (we will be on our honeymoon in Italy)...but The Pasta Apostle WILL BE THERE to fight for the title!
Man this is going to be fun! Cliff you will be missed, think of us when you are..... uh never mind. Lux Blue you are to funny! Dang, "which sucks, because I had a pretty good idea involving model rocket motors and teflon and 1 stick of double mint chewing gum" OMG we are going to bend the rules just to see this! Just added to the fun is the Flaming Hell Cats Saturday night at the hotel bar! Yeehaw! Looking forward to all the fun. Sandman.
I just realized that I have to be in Henderson for a race this weekend. Thanks for moving the weekends MARK!!!!
The Yay-Hoos also suggest folks bring some mechanics' gloves or similar... something to prevent rope burn... we got a game for ya!
however, I am pretty sure most inline 6 valve covers will not, unless You have some creative wheel placement and ballast control. Hope not, I picked up a inline Rent-A-Racer this weekend.

I ran an inline 6 two years ago just fine. It was close, but fit. One way or another, we'll get ya down the track!
...as it goes, I have to succumb to the fact that I won't be there this year, as much as I hoped that I would. If you're on the fence, I urge you get off of it and make "that lil ol' show from Texas". It CAN'T be beat... I'll have to find me a 12 pack of Lonestar here in SoCal and hoist ALL of them in y'alls honor (and Casey's too) around Saturday at 10:00AM PST ... ...oh yeah and some candy'd nuts too...
Not sure an inline racer will make it thru the slalom section of the track... and you can prolly just forget about the freestyle competition...
hey sandman.... sounds great we will be there- wait we dont have anything that can go 100 miles! HA! NEVER MIND. just call me pop.
