This video is rich. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. I'm glad he points out how important it is to remove the filings when you're drilling holes for pop riveting sheet metal. You don't want to do hack work!! :D

  5. I was waiting also to see a mustache ride educational video to start mid way through his first rust removal. Wacka wacka bumd da bum bum.-Weeks

Come on guys !.....He was using reinforced bono !! and that screen looked top quality too. I probably would have used a little better pop rivet though. They looked a little cheap to me.

what a fuckin' goober this guy is. "i'll show you the correct way to do body repair" my ass! what cracks me up is, he is dead serious. sheez.

  16. sure was impressed with the fancy drill grinder, bet he uses spray cans for custom car paint jobs too!!
I would like to see this guy go down to the local Cenex and fix some fertilizer trucks, would take a lot of screan mesh !!!!!!

I went to a car show this summer and watched a body repair demo and was amazed at how they did a lot of the work, thy sure did not teach it that way 40 years ago when I went to body school, I was mostly amazed that the guy feathered the metal out with 120 grit on a DA and then applied Bondo, I always thought you needed some grinder marks for it to adhere too???!!!

If this guy is doing this stuff for customers, maybee someone should call the better business buearu. looks like a scam artist to me?????

I had to watch all 3 also... Wow! Now that's OLD school! Thank GOD they dont do it that way anymore.

I will give him credit on his ability to bang out a patch pannel from sheet steel using a ball-peen and a block of wood.

Wonder if he would let me borrow some of his gardening tools hanging in his garage? Maybe he uses those for the really big rust holes.

so that is where all the people I buy cars from learn their body work skills.. I knew there had to be a central source for this madness.

I think I lost some brain cells watching these. I did some hack work when I was 15....but I mean really. Sad to think that some people think this is the right way. Make sure you use the unwaxed dental floss.

I have a classroom textbook called Total Auto Body Repair, from 1976.

This book, used in high schools and tech schools , showed the same kind of practices...pop-riveted metal, screen and fiberglass over rust holes, not to mention bridging rust gaps with aluminum tape before bondo is applied.

It would be funny if it weren't so frightening

You want to know the sad part? That's exactly how my dad taught me to do rust repair when I was a kid! After a few years, though, we noticed that rivets tended to cause problems so Dad started to BRAZE in the patch metal!!

There are alot of people that think this is the right way. Besides, this video looks pretty old. Technology has changed. What year is that car? Looked like an 86' chevy celebrity.
