I am putting a y block and a 39 tranny in my 29 model a coupe. Post pictures of yours or whoevers Model A with a Y block in it.
Here's my old T-Coupster on Model A Rails with a 292/3spd/9" from '58 F-100. Had a NOS Hurst front plate motor mount.
dont have pics but put a 56 292 in my 30 coupe streatched the frame 7 1/2 inches so i could keep the stock firewall running a top loader 4 speed
Here's my Y-powered A PU lined up against a Y-powered T roadster at Mokan a couple years ago. I have a 312 with a 4 spd toploader.
bttt I don't have one or any pics, but those are one of my favorite motors in a open hood car as far as looks. I even like the stock non t-bird covers.
The Ford and Mercury are the same. The lincolns have different heads and other things that set them apart. Like those cool ass Lincoln Valve covers that wont fit a ford or Merc! From what I know not much is interchangeable. I'm sure someone more knowledgable will chime in with all the differences, which I wouldn't mind knowin myself.
Are any body mods needed to put a 292 Y block in a 1930 Model A? I remember reading somewhere that a shorter water pump is needed, but would you have to turn the fire wall around as well? Great thread here!
Model As and Y-Blocks, great combo! You know I love 'em! Here's one of mine running on a stand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwyTHxB25o8&feature=channel_page
How about a blown Y-block in a '32? http://www.autotraderclassics.com/a...e.xhtml?articleId=42160&conversationId=166180
