  14. Crazy, #263. I remember when I first signed up in the 90's I think 98 or 99 but then had to re-register. Things were different then...don't get me wrong it's cool here, just different.

I joined in June of 2005 (#6828) and the roasting/hazing was still happening if you were an asshat or wanted to do something stupid. I was gonna run a '36 chevy truck with a MM2 front end and no fenders. I still wince when remembering the comments.

You lot taught me a whole bunch about HOT RODS.

    Thanks!

    yep... those were the dayz...

and, i agree. like you, i have learned a tremendous amount about not only traditional hot rods and customs... but about myself here as well. i've met the best group of people on the planet. period.

i WILL say one thing tho... the phrase "he/she's a HAMBer... it'll be cool" does not mean what i once did... used to be, you were a HAMBer, and your word was gold (even if your chain wasnt)... many times now, its "caveat HAMBer" on many things.

the place has changed a lot since i first found the place in the middle of 03 or so and then finally registered and did an intro on new years eve in 04... half a bottle of courage by Jim Beam and i managed to make an ass of myself (for the first time, it happens often) point is, in MANY ways, the "new" HAMB is better than it ever was... but, there are also many small things that are missed as well.

My current number is 930, but when I joined I was number 1,967 (my year of birth). So, I know there have been at least 1,047 HAMBers deleted. I think Ryan said a while ago he removed a lot of inactive accounts.

I was 1st on here back in between 99-2000. Then I moved and didn't have a high speed connection till 05, then couldn't find my account so had to rejoin. At least I'm under the 5000 mark! - #4963

  20. 175, and I read LOTS more that I post. I also fondly remember the old board. I had a terribly time when it switched over keeping up. The bad thing, is I make my living with computers.

I remember back when this interweb thing took off all you heard about was how message boards were being used for gay lifestyle hook ups and whatnot so I avoided them. I remember the round Jalopy Journal format but I lurked for quite a while before I signed up. Turns out that gay lifestyle thing was right! ha ha ha

Mine says 1025, but I was around 2250 when I first signed on.
