I'm about to start putting in the brake and fuel lines, and wiring loom in my boxed deuce frame, which I am building for NHRA/SCTA racing, and some street action as well. I have the aircraft-style line clamps, and plan to run them parallel to each other, along the frame, as much as possible, to clean it up. (not sure exactly HOW I'm going to do that yet..more thinking ahead). Anywho, can I simply use self tapping screws to secure these to the frame, or should I drill and tap, and use better hardware? Going for safety here, as well as a professional looking job. I appreaciate it! Thanks, Jesse
i think squirrel means drill and tap. you can find drill bit sizes for the size hole you want to tap on the internet.
if the frame is painted already i use thread cutting bolts from mcmaster http://www.mcmaster.com/#tapping-screws/=3cw1xp
haha, yeah, I got it the instant I read it... thanks for the inputs. I'm heading to the hardware store!
FYI to pass tech for NHRA/SCTA any brake or fuel lines that pass the flywheel-flexplate area must be shielded by 1/8" steel.
my friend gave me one of these and they're GREAT.........i need to get more. http://www.mcmaster.com/#2748a38/=3d69gs
