Hi, my name is Kris. I just bought a 32 5 window pontiac. looking for any and all information that you can give me about these cars. Where can i look for parts, if someone has any parts laying around or any help would be great. I just have the shell of the car. I also need a title or how to get one. I live in Minnesota thanks. well try to post pics up soon
Similar body shell as a 32 Chev 5w as well as 32 Olds. Do some searches here with the search button. There ARE some 32 Chevy coupe builds here as well as some Pontiacs of close years.
what parts are you in need of? what condition is the car in? what are your plans for the car? good luck with a title nice intro welcome to the HAMB
Well need trunk lid. Also a tiltle or get one somehow. find a frame i can use, possible 34 ford or chevy but ford seem easier to find from what I have seen. Make a hot rod out of it. Need to do body work from rust on body and feel by time I do that I should paint it but dont want to dump thousands in to make a street rod. I plan to use a 301 out of a turbo trans am and build it up some nothing outrageous but good strong reliable motor, either 200r4 or a 5 speed manual. Plan to run no fender or running boards. I also need a radiator shell but not sure if im going pontiac but should I think.
I think you can find a chevy frame for alot less than a ford frame. 31 and up chevy until I believe 34 or 35 any gm body, has the same wheel base as your pontiac coupe. It doesn't matter if it its 2 door sedan, 4 door, or coupe. but without fenders you can change the wheel base to your liking you might want to set your sites on a 34 chevy style grille cause of the layed back design. And without a title and frame. A builder or bonded title of any model 32 gm could work. Just be carefull about trying to buy a title. That has came back to bite a few folks in the past, and elsewhere in the backside...John
ok thanks for heads up. I do have a friend in vegas helping my friend wit a model A title after they figure it out, he was going to help me out. I will check into a 34 gm grill to. Also look for a chevy frame. How do you post pics on here? I have not figured it out.

1932 The Oakland name died, amid rumors that Pontiac, Buick and Cadillac might also be killed. In 1932 Pontiac lost $125.35 per car and sold 47,926 cars. GM President Alfred P. Sloan and Executive Vice President William S. Knudsen fought to save Pontiac by integrating more components with Chevrolet to achieve higher volume production. Knudsen became temporary general manager, and later hired Harry J. Klingler, general sales manager at Chevy, to be Pontiac general manager. Klingler began a new era of active salesmanship. Until now, the division didn't have a strong sales philosophy. He added market research, advertising, and sales promotion programs to the mix. Pontiac debuted an in-line L-head eight-cylinder engine, rated at 85 hp at 3400. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ <!-- Begin .post -->How to get an Automobile Title When you need an automobile title for that classic car or old car be sure to get a notarized bill of sale from the previous owner. The bill of sale must include buyer and seller addresses, VIN number, date and amount of purchase. If any of this information is omitted the bill of sale may be considered invalid. Many states also require a VIN tracing or VIN rub. To do a VIN rub, place a piece paper over the VIN number and gently rub with a pencil over the raised VIN number. It may also be helpful to have a clear photo of the VIN in addition to the rub. <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O></O> With a valid bill of sale, VIN tracing and photo many states will issue a replacement title. Just for interest, here is another body for sale on Streetrodding.com http://streetrodding.com/index.cfm?f=streetRods.view&id=16414
Hey man I looked at your pics and i'd say your pontiac body is very similar in dimensions and such as other 1932 GM coupes. I'm building a 32 chevy 5 window right now the I have a thread on here the link is http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=384431. I don't know how many parts are interchangeable but I & I reproductions makes a lot of early Chevy parts. Good luck man
thanks HotRodBen, I got in touch wit a fellow named Kerry. He has a 31 pontiac and he said he has good infomation about wat i can or cant use and where to get stuff from. Also for length gm is shorter wheelbase. believe mine was 114 where gm 30 to 33 was 110 and 34 went down to 107. But i do not plant to run fendors so not sure if wheel base matters much.
yes, it does... there is this little thing called stance and proportion. you'll learn more about that as you go i know you want to make a hot rod, that is NOT what i meant by "what are your plans" what engine, transmission, steering, front end, rear... what era car do you want to build. all factors in the decision making process and what parts will work with what parts trust me, plan it out before you turn one wrench... it'll save you time and money
plan to run a pontiac 301 wit a turbo and a 5 speed or 200r4. I been looking to find a frame close but either way will need to extend it i believe. Also have 9" ford for rear end. Looking at mustang 2 front suspension. and either 4 link or ladder bars in the rear
Yeah man if you're not running fenders wheelbase doesnt really matter (to an extent). My coupes gonna have something around 117 inch wheelbase with the suicide front end setup i plan on running. You can set your stance however you want. And if you're gonna turbo a 301 i probably wouldn't go with a T5 or 200r4 but thats just my 2 cents.
They won't hold up to the power too well if you plan on hot rodding it much. What kind of power do you plan on making?
they make around 350 lb/ft of torque though...and thats why i asked how much power he was shootin for or just keep it stock. much bangin in a stock T5 and it wont hold up, add slicks = disaster. I'd go with a TH350 or 400
