Those 55-6 MK1 368 valve covers are the best looking factory style ever made. They are getting way up in price also.

Ive also picked up a 430, a 58 Licoln version with around 64K minus the tranny which is why it was parked in 65. The unibody literally turned to dust, the car came apart in several pieces when trying to load it on my trailer with a fork lift. Im still suprised the cops in the 7 towns I traveled thru didnt come unglued!

Still contemplating its future use; most likely in a 49 F3/62 F250 marriage.

I've never seen one in a rod, but always thought it would be a good idea. I was trying to find some Edsel valvecovers from a 361 (I forget the torque rating) to run on the '74 360 motor I've got in an old F-250.

I think if a guy is gonna go to the trouble to run a MEL, it's going to be a 430 or 462. I've heard that Edsels were considered "overpowered" in their day, though.

those bermuda wagons are cool. I found one once in WV, it was a 2-dr, and had the triple color scheme, pink, white, and black. Completely rusted out, it was in BAD shape, but complete. Guy didn't want to sell though.

I had a summer job as a student back in about 65 and my boss ahd a 58 Edsel with the 410 in it - the torque was unbelievable. I think it was the fastest var I'd been in at that point. You using the pushbutton tans and shifter?

You guys understand that bermuda, was a TRIM level option right?

Like the differnace between a Biscayne and an impala.

not ALL 58 2 door wagons are bermudas.

the model that the Frankand Mint made of a bermuda wagon was measured off of a friends of mine Wagon, 50,00 original mile car.

I am working on a 58 2 door wagon deal atm. and it will have the 410 with a 3spd and overdrive in it =)

Nope, No push button shifter. 60's Mustang shifter hooked directly to the trans. It is backwards but all the gears are in the right place as far as the shift pattern, it is just reversed from the norm.

The wheel with the shifter buttons were there though. Played around with the idea for about five seconds until I read about what a pain in the ass they were. Theres too many horror stories about guys with Edsels who have them hooked up manually and gave up on the electric push button satup.

It was an ingenious idea at the time though. The buttons in the stearing wheel center don't spin with the wheel thanks to a series of planetary gears. Neat when it is working properly.

This is a picture of the shifter for the guy who pm'd me. Although I doubt it will work in an Edsel. But I do know they convert them. I'm not sure if it was/is a conversion kit or what was/is used. I'm sure with enough searching you can find something.

    Good luck.

We went and found this 2dr wagon a few weeks ago. . .It's in pretty decent shape bodywise. No glass, rusted floor pans, frame looked pretty solid, engine was still in it. I found the owner and I have his phone number, he's selling the car for $800 firm. I have nothing in trying to push this car, but I would really really hate to see this car sit around and rust, its one of 963 ever made. The work would be beyond my skill, but this is too cool not to do something about. If anyone is looking for a cool longroof shoot me a PM and I'll give you the info, more pictures, even the guy's number if you are interested!!!!

    Bermuda Wagon???

I was under the impression that the Bermuda wagon is amongst the most sought after Edsel there is...

A rusty one up here just sold for $2500 on ebay 3 days after being purchased at a local auction for $1500...

Again, Not all 2 door 58 edsel wagons are bermudas.. Bermuda was a trim option, wood side trim and more... you could get them as a "Roundup" also.

When I was in high school I had a '58 Merc with the 383 engine. Everybody wanted to tell me I full of crap because a 383 was a Mopar. Anyway it weighed something like 4200 lbs but would still run pretty well and would bury the speedometer(120mph?). This old car was stone stock and even had a little blow-by but it was a real horse on torque. Your 410 looks really good in that Model A. I am envious! Rusty.

This 2 door I'm refering to is an Edsel Roundup. Now as I understand it, all Roundups are 2-doors. It was the only 2-door longroof, I though . . . but I could be mistaken.

Didn't the famous Alazan show car run a Lincoln engine with a Latham supercharger under all the chrome tubing?
