Good on ya, fella. I have spent the better part of my 36 years in the "The Valley" and can honestly say that it's a pretty good place to live. Congrats and hopefully the sale of your home will go smoothly.

Just like beautiful women draw flies, beautiful places draw flies. If you think beauty means a lot, you'll be very happy in Silicone SoCal.

Did you miss the part about sprained elbows from constantly patting themselves on the back? That's Santa Barbara!

I used to live near Chatsworth, you can get to Malibu Beach in about 30-40 minutes, with the added bonus of a nice drive through Malibu Canyon to get there...

L.A. has alot to offer and what you get out of it is up to you.;) If you like driving and crowds this is the place to be.

  5. Just caught this one. I didn't read all the comments yet but don't need to
in order to wish you well on the move and in settling in. There is some
beautiful geography around you in that part of the valley. That and
lots of paint ball wars. At least there used to be. You know, I've heard,
lots of cops live in Simi Valley. (or did someone already mention that?)
That's not a bad thing when it comes to a sense of security and, besides,
a lot of them probably have Hot Rods of their own.

The freeways can kinda suck at times and "Rubber-Neckers" abound
but learning all the short cuts, while being half the battle, is also part
of the fun. I know my way around the whole L.A. basin and the valley's
both San Fernando and Antelope about as well as I do Omaha.....Whoopee!

On every thread, there are always some sad angry people - just as there are wherever you live I guess. Me? I'm not put off by the haters, they are easy to find and ignore. Same with people trying to save my sorry ass from hell.

Whatever! I know that *we're* going to have a lot of fun in California. Less than two weeks until I start this adventure! :)

  12. Best of luck, I was born and raised in SoCal. Moved away 6 years ago and have been homsick ever since. Don't listen to the pessimists, you are going to love it.
