See ya there, we are on our way from San Antonio TX but had a problem with my truck and have been stuck in Gallup NM for 24 hours will be back on the road tomorrow (thurs)and be at the bend some time on friday. You know about the hamb meet & greet sunday ?

Keep an eye out for the Zipper motors (Daryl Zipp) modified lakester. 440 2stroke snowmobile motor in what looks like a f-14 with no wings.
If he's there he'll most likely be on Kallijah, the wooden Indian motorcycle. 2x4 frame with Briggs type motor and vintage Indian tin for tanks.

 

well i'm here in wendover now. it's hot and cloudy and pretty damn humid. it rained for about 5 minutes here in town and it all evaporated in a few minutes. they're expecting a few more small storms here with cooler temps over the weekend. the salt actually doesn't look so good on the way in but the word is that the courses are bitchin' and the best they've been in many years. with cooler temps and a good course we should see a lot of records fall.

I am hoping that one of you kind souls that are so blessed as to be at Bonneville this year could also upload some photos of the bikes that will be racing...I know, check the Jockey Journal, but if you can do it here that would be awsome. I know some folks from PA who will be racing their old Harley Flatheads...Slightly modified that is, ahemm... Thanks

Back on the road... hope to make it to Wendover today, or at least Salt Lake City.

 

weather update: it's really windy. lots of dust blowing around. cooler temps makes things nice if only the wind would die down. started inspecting the cars that are already here. there is a beautiful blue '39 ford deluxe coupe that came through the new car section. good lookin' car that should run good with a warmed over flatty. lots of other cars here with more showing up all the time. i hope the weather holds up and the wind goes away.

No pictures, but I was motoring east on hiway 50 out of Sactramento this morning and passed the Tardel convoy headed the same way. Race car on the trailer and 6 or 7 coups and roadsters plus a '41 sedan delivery all in the right lane obeying all the rules. In other words being a very poor example for any young kids that saw them

We made it to Evanston, Wyoming tonight -- not as far as we had hoped, but should still be on the salt by 11am tomorrow.
Went through a bunch of heavy rain and and road construction today.

I'm on my dad's laptop, so I can at least post a few photos from today.
