  5. My repop Bell-style 4 spoker - love the look but wish I still had an original Bell. It's a 14" model that measures out at about 14 1/4". I'll probably run it on my '32 RPU.

  6. And here's my NOS Covico drilled 3 spoke flat wheel - super rare! I've been trying to get one for years. Really wanted a bigger diameter and black rim but can't complain. This one's 12 3/4". Maybe on the Tudor . . .

  7. I'm partial to the rare Oldsmobile wheel with internal clock as shown on Ward Anderson's survivor roadster from the 50's.

"Olds offered the Swiss made MAAR clock/watch unit that mounted below center on a specially designed steering wheel. This was available from 1951-52 and the winding mechanism on the Maar unit worked with forward and back movements (acceleration and braking) along with rotation of the steering wheel. The winding mechanisms also had small plastic windows where the operation of the unit could be viewed. This caused the clock to be fairly large and a special turn signal arm was needed to clear the back of the unit when steering."

I have no idea what it's from, but I ended up with two of them. One went into the truck!

[IMG]this is a pic of my steering wheel. there is a local guy intown that builds these custom banjo wheels. Im kind of on the fence whether this wheel will last in this car.

    my new Kevin Lee original,
I need to file the brass screws and put some finish on it

but this picture doesn't do it justice,
this wheel is nice enough to build a car around

  18. Yeah, my Austin has different spoke spacing and the turnsignal/horn is chrome diecast. I bet the same supplier made them for Ford of England though.

Great thread! Here's one I rescued from the crusher-took it off a late 40's? Chevy truck that had been converted into a hay bailer on an old farm. It was spun around backwards, and the thing ran in reverse, very slowly is my guess...No idea what it is, but I liked it, and grabbed it before it got smashed. Anybody have any ideas what it is? Looks like maybe it is some kinda alloy, no rust, just some oxidation, and someone painted it with green latex at one time...rubber outer rim is in OK shape, just a leather wrap, some elbow grease and polish and I'm good to go...I am still wondering what it belonged to originally...any guesses??
