Houston HAMBer Cruze August 2009!!!

Sunday the 2nd of August 2009, (and the first Sunday of every month), if you are in or near Houston, Texas you are going to the Cruze at the Shady Tavern Ice House.

Special pre-VJ Day edition. Hang out your flag on August 14th,... and field your neighbor's questions about what the special occasion is...(sigh heavily, shake head, kick at the dirt. Walk away with hands in pockets head down. Widen shot to show flag pole with old glory flowing in the breeze, taps playing in back ground, fade to black)

AwW! i hope i can get in the garage before then. I have a minimal amount of work to get the car rollin. just no time!!!

 

Cool, this is just right down the street and this weekend looks free (for once!).

 

Oh, yeah, I forgot to say, if you want to roll up on a bike that's cool to. We usually have a bunch of old Brit bikes and classic Harley Ds also. I put a post up on the Jockey Journal this month also.

 

Hmmm, maybe I'll have the '59 Ranchero ready (sort of), by Sunday. I just finsihed off the paint job, but still have to put all the chrome, bumpers, grill, door handles, rear window, etal back on. If I do, maybe I'll drop by for a beer or two,,,,,or three.

Damn these things are always on the first sunday, I have my daughter EVERY first sunday of the month!!

 

I enjoyed the tour in June, cool stuff going on there.

 

I picked up a '39 coupe last weekend and am anxious to tear into it. If it gets too hot in the garage on sunday to work on it I'll be there!!

 

I always pass by on there sometimes on my way to work others just running around.I have always wanted to stop and see what was going on there because I have seen the cars out front or just inside but didn't want to step on anyone's toes.I wasn't sure if it was cool.I got to work this Sunday but Im going try and stop by the Tavern on my way...

You can't stop in any time, just know this is a business and not a hobby shop. A short visit during the work week is fine, but better on the weekends. The invitation is good for all the HAMBERS.

Nah. It's just "that" time. I'm pulling it down to clean, paint, and go through everything. A little bodywork here and there. Some paint. A few modifications. Maybe a new dash. Maybe a new seat. Maybe maybe maybe.

Hope to be done by DOTD. I've got a lot on my list by with the paycuts we've had I'm not so sure I'll be able to pull the big ticket stuff like I wanted to. New dropped axle, chrome the exhaust, new tires, etc.

I know what you mean, I wanted to get a dropped axle for the A but all purchases are on hold. The whole of our tech department get their pink slips on 30th September. IBM gave us all the official no we don't need you when we take over support.
