Got mine as a nick name from friends at the tech school I went to

Got mine from a former coworker who knew how much I liked lowered cars and my first name is Les. He just started calling me lesclearance.

Have had a few nicknames, feels corney making one up but have had a few hung on me.
Well, for starters my initials are M.F.E. but It's not Massey Ferguson their calling me when I'm being me
When I first started working on cars got tired of hearing "why do they call you the greaser?" not greaser but The greaser.
Before I got good at saving rusty bolts I smokewrenched them with a passion. New on a job at this bodyshop the boss said "Hey you with the torch, Hey Torch I gotta buy those damn bolts!". He also called me bondojovi "Hey Bondo Jovi, get a haircut".
Alot of people I ran with back then were calling me Torch and when I was drunk it was Scorch from "Hey torch, your scorched".
Been called Truckermike, Unclemike(from Uncle buck), Goodfingerz, Baldwin...short for bald-one, getting a bit thin on top no more big hair.
My brother when his hair was the rage was called Wiglet.
My gramps worked in the packing house at Cudahay brand with alot of non-caucasians who gave him his nick and was known throughout south Omaha as Pinky or Pink
Thats enough.

 

A bunch of us when I was living in Oceanside were sitting around and got to wondering where all the cool Porn star names came from and someone thought it would be interesting to see how many Porn Star names we could get off a car spelling sometimes altered ... Jack Stowedge, Max Phil, Phil Level and others. But the best was Mick Strider when he discovered Max Tunglode.

TrannyMan...I started rebuilding transmissions in High school for extra money and I have been a transmission guy for 31 years, now I just own the shops and do little work to the rebuilding process unless we get something pre 85 in........much to my dissmay I found that tranny also meant something else other than to do with transmissions.

Since I was a kid I always wanted a car called the Joker so thats what I named my 55. JOKER JASON. (I also joke around all the time)

 

For some stupid reason,I thought "Ranunculous" was a cool name like "Spartacus" or "Damacles" or ?
I figured I'd use that,not knowing what it was or meanings or whatever?
My truck is a purple M5 Stude....

Well, back before I had responsibilites, I raced motocross a lot. Sometimes a buddy and I would go race some short track races with our mx bikes. The short trackers hated our knobby tires and the fact we usually won. After a couple of times, when we would show up people (one guy in particular) would say, dam mother f-ing motocrossers. When we heard that we made stickers that said- mfnmxer.

When I first joined up on the HAMB, it was the first message board I had joined, I just used cped, first letter of my first name and the first three of my third name (last name). I got tired of trying to explain it so I switched to what my Great-grandfather used to call me..."Spark Plug".

 

My pops, Grumpy Red, gave it to me when I was a kid. I had a habit of packin a straight razor in my cowboy boot...thought I was cool or something. Had the name for decades now.

 

Way back when Mike was working on his 61 Buick LeSabre bubbletop project car, and the addition of a 61 2dr Sedan parts car on top of my 83 Regal. When we got our first computer in 99, I came up with the name BUICKbelle. Growing up, my mother always called me sissybelle, so I just sprouted it from there. The 61s are gone, but I still have that Regal, that car has been with me for eleven years now, I couldn't part with it anymore than I could part with my right arm.

I bought my '55 to make my own 1:1 version of the old Revell model kit that had been stuck in my head since childhood. My buddy kept asking when we were going to cut the quarters: "When are we going to cut your '55?" We did and now I am.

Back in '89 I was building oval track race cars for customers. I would offer advice on setups or driving style to the younger guys. I got the impression that they thought I was the old guy just talking out of his ass.

I had this 360 sprint car and my choice of drivers had another deal going so I decided to try it myself.....after not having been behind the wheel since 1970. First night out I managed to win my heat race and finish third in the Main (in spite of the failed power steering). The guys began calling me "Johnny Fast" after that.

Later that summer I did a small favor for a friend's wife and, at the coffee shop, she told everyone how "sweet" I was....so the nickname got that added to it. I was now "Sweet Johnny Fast".
