Keep up the work, kid! Nice to see teenagers with some ambition, and are not tied to a damn video game console! Looking forward to seeing some more progress pics as you get there.
That's quite possibly the single most depressing thing I think I've ever read on here.... Anyhow, RatRodin, keep up the good work! I wish I got started as young as you.
Thanks for the advise! anyways after about only 2-3 hours out in the shop today, We got this much done...... BEFORE:::: AFTER:::: Then we just mocked a few things up to see what it will look like And this was at our house a few weeks ago (He was the one who sold use the 27)
Heard of McPherson college? Its never to late to get a jump on college... Check out the website mcpherson.edu and PM me if you want more info or a personal tour! Keep on keepin on!!!
Hi ratroddin, couldn't send you these pics in an attachment when replying to your message, need a welder of your own? I bought several little used but outdated units from the south west Carpenter's apprenticeship training fund Phoenix/Tucson when they upgraded their equipment and have an extra. they look like 3phase units but are made for 220v/440v single phase. I have mine running on a 50 amp 220 breaker. their just made big for commercial use and handling 440 if needed and are copper wound not aluminum wound. they are ac dc+ dc- stick welders
Man T's are awesome, my opinion is a bit biased though. You guys get a hold of me if you need any help, I bs'd with your Dad in Cedarvale a couple weeks ago. I've done the T thing before so don't hesitate to get a hold of me.
Man you & me may be kin!I to wasnt allowed under the hood of a car to learn anything as my dad said that he could do it faster etc.So I go & ride my skateboard & get into mischief. hey kid keep those pics coming.Well done ive already got some ideas from your build.. If only I could weld! My daughter is 19 & is an aprentice mechanic at a local street rod shop & Im not letting her make the same mistakes that I did when I was younger. You youngsters are the future of hot rodding,,go hard
Yea, I'm not sure if I know you, I've only talked to your Dad once. I live over by Roosevelt. I have a 27 T sedan and a black 59 chevy stepside with 55 fenders and grille with a 57 hood and an 04 procharged black GTO. Hit me up sometime if you need anything.
Ya man you know me I was talking to you about your sedan over there at cedervale, I think we asked you about a door for our 27 right?
Well Not much to show you, just mainly taking stuff off the el camino. I did manage to make it bleed though haha Tranny fluid draind out when we had it jacked up I guess.
Well guys, I know not much has been happening, but I had a kool experiance today. My dad and me pulled The motor!! So anyways here are some pictures. More pictures tommarow or the next day, We plan on painting the motor and mediablasting some parts so... Cant wait to see how that comes out
Those 350 Lincoln's are a real good stick welder, you can burn a 1/2 " rod with them for some real HD welding.
Don't take these guys criticism (snide comments) too serious kid when I was 13 I had a hard time just gluing model cars together, didn't pick up a welder till my late 20's, keep practicing before long you will be a wiz! That El Camino would make a sweet parts chaser! Oh yeah forgot to add I grew up in Oswego KS! It's a good place to be from!
Well I thought this was kinda funny tell me what you think?? <object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cvBXjZ4W524&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cvBXjZ4W524&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>
Nice work on the car, im in the same boat, im 16 and me and my dad are building a 1936 chevy p/u. A lot of people look suprised when i tell them what we are doing,so im sure you get that a lot too. Good luck with the rest of your build. Eric
Yeah i got a whole bunch of them in my profile, i am currently working on the rear end, im planning on running it without fenders but more of a traditional truck than a RR, progress is slow but getting faster now during the summer.
I think that thoughs years of trucks look really good without fenders. What are you doing in the rear end, rebuilding? What are you using for a motor?
