The hemi rear engined digger was driven by Red Case. I think that this picture was taken at Freeway Dragstrip in Houston in '58, when Case, Jack Ewell, and Romeo Palamedes went from California to Texas to race Garlits (Garlits won). As dangerous as this car looks, Case survived it, only to die in a slingshot at Vaca Valley.

OMG! That must be the automotive equivalent of wearing plaid, stripes and polka dots all at the same time

This thing reminds me of my days of slot car racing as a kid. Built something like this and just scotch taped it to the chasis

Thanx LP,shame alleycat was wrecked, while im real happy that the thames is on good hands. You know what i like of the Alleycat was the wheels sticking out so much, just like a stock widht rear axle...:D...i suppose those days the main goal was runnin in the strip and a narrowed rear was a little too expensive and tricky for the time.Am i right?
I must say that im kinda sentimental about the british scene, as it was there that i got into it, i mean, not in the scene, as i didnt know anybody of the "relevant" people, but where i learnt the basics of the hobby and seen my 1st cars live, i was in my early 20s and a xbreed between a punk and a criminal, i was hangin out w/ travellers, if you know what im talkin about. anyway, i remember Sweet n Sour when it came out, togheter w/ the Planet Voodoo merc and countless others i only knew for Custom Car mag...memories...i was there late 90s early 2000. The pod was kool! I wish we had that kind of tracks here in italy!

Pastgas im sorry, i have none, but if you go back few pages someone else posted a pic of it, im not sure its from the UK, i just know i saved it in my Euro folder.

More pics, some where already posted, like the Batto Trucking Altered, but its so kool, and these pics are of a receently held march meet, i think theyre from So Cal Dave, while the previous where of its glory days.

Some of these may be off topic, but they're all odd.

I love the wonderful, primitive oddness of 1950's dragracing.

Most of these came from WeDidItForLove.com

There have been a couple of pics of a car called No Big Thang, that is a Chicagoland area based car and it's still around til this day!A guy i know said thatquite a while ago that car was actually for sale on a used car lot(Maybe it was in the 80's but i'm not sure if that is true or not!).If i'm not mistaken it's a Vespa!
