mine; 17yrs in a building, then sat outside for a long long time, but preserved some how(?) from this: to this: great car...blast to drive.
Hey, has anybody heard of putting WD40 on a car with weathered paint like the ones on the pictures? A guy told me that It wouldn't hurt enamel paint and I could clean it off with soap and water and a good paint prep cleaner if I ever wanted to paint it. The WD 40 would help keep the patina and keep the rust down . . . any ideas on this?
Don't know if this counts.... 1940 Dodge Coupe mocked up in my garage. The paint is exactly the way I got the car. There's a big gray primer splotch on the driver's side quarter that I'm not sure how I'd work into the old black paint, or I'm even going to keep the old paint. Might get it running and driving, snap a few pictures, in case its got a little history. It's someone's old hot rod....
Haha! I have something similar...got this 1940's gem from the original owner. She said her father told her to always keep it inside when not being ridden, so it's in fantastic condition. Even the tires are original!
Rear and night view - A few days ago - just after its first drive in a looonnng while. Side view small - As found a few weeks ago. Sat for over 7 years outside. At least it had a killer view through the rear view during that time! Gonna be a shame to wash it up! The drivers side tires have quite a bit of green mossy sheen on them. Organic Hot Rods Unite!
