The info I have about this shot is that Carl Lee Allen was the owner operater of the garage and is the gentleman in the right of the photo. John Parker is an employee pictured on the left.

What I thought was coolest about this pic (and why I scanned it) is the custom in the edge of the shot to the right.

The duel front wheels and tyres on the Power Wagon are interesting and darn cool too!
However one does have to wonder why it needed them?

I can understand if someone was concerned because their pic was being used in a commercial sense, but other than that, wtf? It was a pic, not a freakin' work of art...

    Just my opinion

Then he should watermark his pictures or make it so people can't save or hotlink the photos.

    hi all..
didn't mean to cause a problem here...
I wasn't whining... i asked politely to be credited for a photo.
It actually is a work of art that i spent a lot of time on.
I didn't say take it down, i just asked to be credited so if someone wants a print, they can order one. Photography is one of the ways I support my growing family.
The owner of the car does not have to be credited unless i wanted to sell the image for commercial usage , then a release is sometimes needed.
No credit needed for me to show in a gallery, book or offer prints.
Anyway i have some other shots you guys might like:

timheff nice to know you are not a whiner:eek: You have some great pics and I hope you occasionally share them with us. If you haven't already checked it out, take a look at the Art Archive. You will appreciate the talent there too.:)

[IMG] February 1942. Akron, Ohio. Firestone Rubber. "Conversion. Beverage containers to aviation oxygen cylinders. After shatterproof oxygen cylinders for high altitude flying have passed all tests in the metal division of a large Eastern rubber factory, hot air is blown through the cylinders to remove all trace of moisture. The cylinders are then sealed and stacked for painting."

    I have one of these.
Does anyone know more about them?

It's a 1954 Meteor (Canadian only models that were priced between a Mercury and a Ford). Given our climiate, other than western cars or real low mile originals, they are pretty rare today.

Basically a Ford body with fancier trim and options. 1949-50 and '54-56 Meteors are my favorite years.
