Well gents, gimme some input! What would you do with this? Theres way too much creativity on this board to rack just MY brain for ideas- Let the bidding start And heres my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/sissty4_500/
Im havin trouble inserting an image! Stand by for a link to a previous thread with the pictures I am trying to post...
looks like the mirror is pitted as is the door handles. I'd replace those and cruise. maybe get some fancy hubcaps. definitly cruise though. not a damn thing wrong with cruising an old stocker 4 door. been there, done that.
Nothing to hate. That ride is beautiful . I would drive the hell out of it. Well after I lost the white walls (just not MY thing).....
Ok I'll go radical here! Get a straight axle, Thunderbolt teardrop hood, Y-block, and fender headers! Damn I wish I could draw cuz I'd have a blast coming up with a pic of that one!!! For real drive the pants off it!
Teardrop and Fender headers! Ive already got the Y-Block (with NO power btw! 292) Maybe chop the post and alter the doors while I am at it? I dig it
I'd search ebay for factory accessories... I'm all about the accessories. then I'd pretty up the motor. Y-block? Tbird valve covers, rams horn exhaust and 3 carbs... yeah baby!
Leave the whitewalls!!! WSW tires in '56 were a big deal! Only the cheapskates and cops had blackwalls. Anybody that was into cars in '56 wanted whitewall tires. I like the idea of putting some neat hubcaps on it. I'd go with Oldsmobile Fiesta flipper-caps. Make sure it has dual exhaust and some throaty mufflers....And then DRIVE IT. It's a super ride!! If you want to go fast, put a 312 Y-block in it with a 4-bbl and a McCulloch blower. All period correct stuff...and damn fast!. JG
Id just do the usual. Nose it deck it, lose the handles, emblems and mirrors, a set of Firestone wide whites and 57 Caddys with a 54 Chevy grille that has 9765897568975 teeth. Oh and perhaps a set of 56 Merc station wagon taillights. I would keep the color exactly as is with no pinstriping or anything like that.
I've alot to work with havin a 292. Somebody can find me a setup for a McCulloch kit I'm down for just about anything.
Maaayyybbbeee lower it in the front and/or the back (preferably just the back), but only if it maintains its functionality. I can agree with "pretty up the motor". What kind of "accessories"?
