Great job. These old engines require the correct machine work after years of abuse. Looks like it is in good hands. Cool!

The Heads, as received had a chamber volume of 81cc.

When Mocked up, the stock pistons were .020 below the deck @ TDC.

  14. Too cool. My Dad owns a small machine shop doing older engines, and he has that exact same boring bar...same one he bought when he was in his early 20's.

  15. Wow, isn't a stock head something like 102cc?

    Those heads were bone stock.

After you break-in the motor and make a few passes at Mokan, I wanna ride shotgun.

Great thread. Keep "em coming. Have a 56 330 also. It's stuck, hope the bores are not to bad. Hope I can get the pistons out with out much trouble. Good Work, very well done.

I don't know a darn thing about HEMI's, but I have a question. How much dome is in those pistons? What is the target compression ratio? With the head CC and the pistons being that deep in the hole, it seems like the compression is gonna be pretty low? Even with a real small gasket it seems like it'd take a pretty tall piston to get the compression up. Or am I missing something in the HEMI to SBC conversion?

I'm sure ya'll have it figured out, I'm just trying to learn a little something about HEMI's.
